I'm a counselor, corporate trainer, poet, artist, hypnotherapist, dream analyst, life coach, substance abuse professional, and a dear friend to many, many people - I guess I know enough to be DANGEROUS I suppose. Don't we all???? Truth be told, aren't we all a little crazy?? There's a fine line between genuis and insanity. LOL. Lots of EXCITING things happening in my life right now, but I still find time to date somehow. I'm a prolific reader and writer. Working on getting two books published before the end of the year. First one is coming out in October probably - called "Get Busy Living: The Art of Getting Unstuck" . Also publishing my poetry collection (over ***written) before the end of the year - It is called "Persephone Rising" (my mythological hero) and I'm just picking out the best ones for publication. Don't be fooled though or intimated -- I don't know a stranger and can talk to anyone about anything and everything. People always tell me how comfortable they feel around me and relaxed. That's the counselor in me I suppose - but I'd like to think it's just the intentional act of being kind and decent to other human beings who are not that different from me really. I'm a secure and busy woman who can STILL find time to spend with people who are important to me. I am looking for someone who can hold a good conversation and is stable and kind. I really enjoy lengthy conversations over a glass of wine or some coffee. Every ONE of us has a STORY, and I would love to hear YOURS! Reciprocation is nice in relationships and I would like to find that. I am looking for a good friendship to start because I think that's the foundation of anything that's worth having. I'd be happy to make some new friends even if not interested in something more. Either way, I will be honest with you. I promise you that. I've learned that happiness in life sometimes looks very different from the way we imagined or planned it out, and it can be even better than the plans we laid out. Kind of ironic. I prefer to meet people face to face sooner vs. later. If you can't have a good conversation in person, what's the point really. This part sucks, but I will attempt to describe myself the best I can.I enjoy family and friends and spend all my free time with one or the other. I am not an outdoorsman, I'm afraid of creepy crawlies, but will try new things and do so with a smile. I enjoy books and learning and have dedicated the last several years of my life to obtaining a degree in English and will begin earning my Master's degree this year. What that means for anyone who may want to get to know me is: I won't pretend I'm stupid, I enjoy intelligent conversation, and I have goals in life which I am determined to meet. I have children who are my main priority. I sacrifice a lot to be a good mother to them and don't plan on changing that now. Which doesn't mean I don't have time for anything or anyone else, it just means I'm a mom. I still go out and have fun, travel, and meet people. However, I keep my children and my dating life separate, which means I don't bring men around my kids until I feel it is the right thing to do. If you are still reading this, you probably think I am a complete b*tch. I'm not. I am independent and direct, but I am also kind and loving, really I am. I love people, all people. It isn't my job to judge so I try not to and it is important to me that I spend my time with kind and accepting people. Life is full of cruelty and harshness, I try to live my life in a way that doesn't add to that.I am hoping to meet new people on here, and maybe, just maybe find someone I can have a relationship with...eventually. Is this supposed to be an ideal first date? Or just what I WOULD do? I would like to spend time getting to know someone a little on a first date I'm sure that could be done by bungee jumping or mime classes. Seriously, I prefer to do something where we can talk and get to know one another.
