About Me

Hi Friends!I just moved to Nanaimo, and literally do not know a single soul here! I love cooking, hosting of any kind, cycling, trying new coffee shops and restaurants and spending time with my family. I am interested in art, travel and would love to rebuild my French language skills. I am looking to plant some roots here. I am eager to dive into what I have observed to be the culture here. Here are some of the steps I have taken so far!• I have familiarized myself with (and whole-heartedly embraced) island time!• I have learned the umbrella dance (which some of you might know as umbrella etiquette) and the role I play being 5’4!•• I have secured “borrowing privileges” of a mountain bike, a kayak, hiking poles and camping equipment (compliments of dear dad!)• I have a Starbucks card locked and loaded at any time, but understand the importance of complaining about their coffee and their prices.• I bought a fleece jacket and yoga pants. And will be on the look-out for a hemp dress and a Mountain Equipment co-op!Hope that covers all the bases! Though there is something to be said for ”the rich, brash, cowboy-hat clad, oil-thirsty, hyper-conservative redneck” kind of guy, I am not one to adhere to the Albertan stereotypes.I am an extremely compassionate individual and believe that there is nothing sexier than a man who understands the importance of helping others. People who snarl and pass judgments on strangers are the true definition of *** me, and I find it to be a big turn off. Empathy is a crucial quality that is extremely lacking in this world. Love thy neighbor, even if he is a total ***hole! I am also very affectionate, no matter who you are. Watch out, I am a hugger! I have heard that there are people out there that actually don’t like to be touched. If you are one of them, I respect you, but I don’t understand you!Family is really important to me. I have an incredibly close relationship with my parents. My daughter is 4, and is an incredible little human being.I love hanging out with people who are eager to have new experiences in life! Doesn’t have to be anything crazy, but you know, don’t tell me that you hate sushi if you’ve never tried it! I LOVE to laugh, and appreciate the art of sarcasm. You do not have to be quick-witted or even well spoken, but think of something more creative than “Hey, how are you” before you message me. Anybody want to take me on a tour?Xo Talk soon!

    I'm currently studying photography, a passion I discovered as an entertainment journalist. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be watching live music.
