I’ I’ve taught toddlers and smelly middle schoolers English. I’ I’ve taken more wrong turns than I can count but they led me to discover new places and meet new friends. I dream in color, I have a penchant for the absurd, and as a true North Carolinian, am as sweet as sweet iced tea. I’m a very passionate person. I am not offended by a dirty joke and can dish out one of my own. I adore grammar (and occasionally defy it), sleeping in (when kidless), reading (as much as possible. Yes, I am a bookworm), and cooking (but loathe doing the dishes). I am old fashioned (to a certain degree) and believe that ‘love conquers all,’ but that’s because I’m a hopeless romantic. I have a lust for all things great in this world: great food, great friends, and great adventures. Now that that’s out of the way, here’s a little bit (more) about me: • The first thing I do when I get home is change into comfy clothes (shorts/pj pants, tank top, anything but ‘real clothes’)• Eating is one of life’s important physical pleasures, and I enjoy it wholeheartedly (Foodgasms? Yes, please!)• I use phrases like “cool beans” and “awesome sauce”, which some find incredibly dorky. I, however, think they are cool (beans).• I correct people’s grammar (in my head).• There’s not a single country that I wouldn’t want to visit.• I love games (board games, card games, video games – you get the picture)• I stay up way too late way too often. (There’s just something about the nighttime that I find magical, if you will, that keeps me up) Can you relate?• I am generous, loyal, sensitive, sometimes sassy/sarcastic, but always sweet. I wear my heart on my sleeve too. Though sometimes I wish I didn’t.• I enjoy (and am good at) solving the puzzles on Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.     I like how this site is not as aggressive in the way it forces me to type more information about myself. I am not an online meet-up kind of person, but at the same time I work extensive hours as an environmental activist in a red state - you do the math. I suck at math.     I believe there is man that is just for me, somewhere. He's been fairly hard to find but my search has led me to learn many life lessons and to grow as a woman who is tailor made for him. I don't know when or where or how, but I do know it will happen one day. So, you may or may not be him, but we are probably both searching for that one. I love animals and sometimes wonder if they are truly smarter than us humans. After all, they do only what they love and sleep whenever they want. I work hard and I love what I do, enough to have to remind myself that some of it is actually work and not play. On the plus side, it even keeps me in shape. I have a lot of self-taught skills in my pocket and I like to keep adding to them. Experiences are what shape us and relationships keep us going. Change just keeps us precariously balanced between excitement and dread. Mix it all together and here I am. That is the short version.
