About Me

If I had to sum up myself in three simple sentences, I would say this: I teach. I travel. I write. That’s the heading on my travel blog. But, allow me to elaborate a little more.I'm bubbly, outgoing, and a bit of a free spirit. Connecting with people and getting to know "their story" is important to me. I'm definitely an adventure seeker, but I don't mind sitting down to read a good book. I’m pretty down to earth, but on the same token, I love getting dressed up for a night on the town.Family is the most important thing to me and I'm the oldest of seven children (same parents). We are a loud, rambunctious group and staying in touch with everyone is like a full time job.Traveling is one of my passions and I started a travel blog last year. Yep, I'm a dork like that. No shame. One of my goals in life is to visit all seven continents, one more to go! I've been pretty transient since I graduated from college. In both places, I was teaching. Sprinkled across the globe are a trail of memories and friends that I have left behind. Thanks to ***, I stay in pretty close contact with my friends and I’m always planning my next trip. I live with my brother, who is stationed here in the Navy. Aside from that, I like to sing. I'm a huge country music fan. I'm obsessed with dancing (especially ballroom and Latin)! I spend a lot of time working (the job of a teacher is never ending). I’m looking for someone I can be friends with first. I would love to meet someone who is kind, educated, compassionate, and silly. I definitely need someone who likes adventure as much as I do and is a little bit of a rebel. I do believe in God, but I’m not the judgmental type. One thing that traveling has taught me is to be respectful of all religions. First date: Something casual and laid back. I like the man to take the lead here and I’ll try anything once:)

    I've been in my current place of employment for almost eight years but am beginning a new position; one which will afford me somewhat more 'normal' hours. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of this by going out on the weekends and in the evenings; something I wasn't normally able to do. I like adventure and will try about anything once; I love music; any and all kinds really. Live music is always a great option in my opinion. I own my house so aside from work and having some fun I also enjoy taking care of my house and working on some DIY projects. Traveling is also another passion of mine and something I unfortunately don't get to do enough of. I'm hoping to plan another cruise for sometime in the near future. Aside from all of this, I'm up for just about anything fun; bowling, go karts, batting cages, seeing a movie, roller coasters, etc. I also like sports; I play volleyball and do yoga regularly and love football season!! Basketball and hockey are also favorites to watch. Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons - I LOVE to snow ski but unfortunately don't get to go nearly as often as I would like. Once spring and summer roll around I look forward to being outside more, going to the pool or lake and going to the occasional water park. As mentioned above, I love adventure and will try just about anything once. I love music so a concert is always fun. Something like Frankie's Fun Park is always a cool option since it helps break the ice of a first date and is fun and allows you to be goofy at the same time. I also love trying out new or different restaurants and having a glass or wine or cold beer so that would be my option number three.
