For too many years, I fell into the trap of defining myself by the work I do. "I'm a writer", I'd say. "It's what I do. I've never had another job." While true, I think I'm much more well-rounded person now. Balance is what it's all about.I work out of the house and sometimes work out of the house, like at Spanish Banks West with my dog. Now, I'm not saying I'm a handyman or anything, but I won't back down from a challenge. I'll do some electrical, mechanical, plumbing if I have to, and painting. Aaaaaahhh, painting. A while ago I was challenged by a plastic cap on an aerosol can of spray paint. The closest tool in the garage was a hatchet. So, I swung the hatchet at the cap, hoping to knock it off. ***, I dealt the can a glancing blow and put a Titanical gash in it. The paint inside, sensing it was free, escaped and clung to the nearest object, which was my face. I must have looked funny blindly staggering out of the garage, glasses blackened out, head looking like a bowling ball with blackened teeth. Yes, I was smiling at the time of the incident.Smiling because, all calamities aside, I'm a happy guy. I play guitar badly and sing joyously and with no embarrassment or shame whatsoever. I've been known to bake a killer pie. Good thing I love keeping in shape, with strength training and my most recent obsession, Spinning, otherwise known as indoor cycling, which I do 6 times a week. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their cardio routine, have a ton of fun and get a killer workout! I've just obtained my Spinning *** certification but I haven't started teaching yet. And, oh yeah. I just bought a VW camper van, so plan to go for a lot of road trips next spring and summer.I shave my head. I love laying out in the sun. I donate blood every two months. I love giving back and doing volunteer service work, because for me gratitude is an action.

The formula here is that we all discuss our likes and dislikes and use that info to screen profiles. Do you think that works? Has it worked for you?... so here goes. My interests are many and varied and I like almost all kinds of music. I like to stay active. My ideal mate would be someone who is independent and witty. There is so much more to all of us than we can write here. Lets get together and find out in person. A first date from a dating site would be coffee or lunch at most. It needs to be light and not too long because if the chemistry is there, you can always have another date. And if it isn't, well, better to let it go.

Guy, looking for an athletic-minded sorta gal, for a friendship inspired by the shared experiences of companionship that might lead to something special - a passionate connection and ultimately, (dare I say!) love! I'm looking for a communicative and compassionate gal, one who's thankful and appreciative for what she has... to share activities together, and to ultimately develop a mutually supportive and nurturing relationship.I'm a very passionate person in general and this includes my work as a self-employed plumber. Also love bicycling (Along with road and mountain bikes, I have a tandem too!) Love getting outdoors - riding and hiking through the beautiful outdoor environment with which we've been so abundantly blessed. Passionate about wine...love weekend getaways...especially those that include visiting wineries.I've a fantastic group of friends with whom I love spending time :-)Enjoy dining out and prefer the smaller more authentic and intimate setting type of restaurants (do you know "The Old Place" on Mulholland???). Also enjoy a wide variety of music, and attending concerts and plays and taking in a movie (or relaxing at home and taking in a video - even chick flicks (please don't confiscate my "man card") LOLIf we decide to meet, prefer a rendezvous at an establishment for a glass of wine, or some other libation - a nice venue to get to know one another...see if there's an affinity/connection.Would prefer to meet a woman who resides north of the "The Valley" Our lives and time are precious! - Lets not spend so much of it driving! : )Best wishes with your search! First Date? How about "Meet 'n' Greet"? Lets meet ideally some Mon-Thur evening for some social lubrication...a glass or two of wine or some other libation...perhaps for a happy hour. If there's a connection...THEN a first date...
