For too many years, I fell into the trap of defining myself by the work I do. "I'm a writer", I'd say. "It's what I do. I've never had another job." While true, I think I'm much more well-rounded person now. Balance is what it's all about.I work out of the house and sometimes work out of the house, like at Spanish Banks West with my dog.Now, I'm not saying I'm a handyman or anything, but I won't back down from a challenge. I'll do some electrical, mechanical, plumbing if I have to, and painting. Aaaaaahhh, painting. A while ago I was challenged by a plastic cap on an aerosol can of spray paint. The closest tool in the garage was a hatchet. So, I swung the hatchet at the cap, hoping to knock it off. ***, I dealt the can a glancing blow and put a Titanical gash in it. The paint inside, sensing it was free, escaped and clung to the nearest object, which was my face. I must have looked funny blindly staggering out of the garage, glasses blackened out, head looking like a bowling ball with blackened teeth. Yes, I was smiling at the time of the incident.Smiling because, all calamities aside, I'm a happy guy. I play guitar badly and sing joyously and with no embarrassment or shame whatsoever. I've been known to bake a killer pie. Good thing I love keeping in shape, with strength training and my most recent obsession, Spinning, otherwise known as indoor cycling, which I do 6 times a week. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their cardio routine, have a ton of fun and get a killer workout! I've just obtained my Spinning *** certification but I haven't started teaching yet. And, oh yeah. I just bought a VW camper van, so plan to go for a lot of road trips next spring and summer.I shave my head. I love laying out in the sun. I donate blood every two months. I love giving back and doing volunteer service work, because for me gratitude is an action.

    Hi,I hope things are well with you.Simply put, I'm here to find a true companion. What I mean by that is a female companion that's interested in me as much as I am in her and one that truly would like to be best of friends. It sounds simple but I've found that it's not so simple.I'll briefly describe my situation. I'm 55 and have been divorced for over a decade. I'm not retired. I plan to work for several years yet. Currently I'm self employed and earn a decent income at it. But while the freedom is great, working alone gets boring :P. I'm a home owner and live close to a rural community. So if you like country life, that could be a plus. I know that I won't be able to live here alone too long. It was a great place for kids to go grow up and go to school from but too lonely to live alone at. Although my children are grown, my youngest one will be here with me until next June. She's joining the armed forces after graduation. I'll miss her :(.I like some of the usual things that others do like warm weather and being by the water, music, festivals, cafes, coffee shops, dining, walking, travel, the islands, river tubing, fishing and keeping fit. I've never been on a cruise or one of the southern vacation destinations in the winter. It's something I'd like to do soon, especially in the company of my female companion :).Anyway, that's a brief description of me. Feel free to ask what you'd like to know.
