I’m a freelance writer who honestly believes we're just artifacts of the random motion of sub-atomic particles. Unfortunately, i've found that this belief is of only limited utility when having one’s prostate examined or answering the question “Do I look fat in this?”I’m passionate about ideas; interested in almost everything. I can talk intelligently about things I know absolutely nothing about. Except hockey.’s knees were still good. I’m open to new ideas, activities and experiences. When not checking ten times to make sure the oven’s off and the door’s locked, I have mastered a zen-like calm.Much to my surprise, I have discovered that I actually do suffer fools well. This means that I will be able to get along with those friends of yours that you’ve had so long that you can’t really remember why they’re your friends. As well as family members who get shunted off to the “I don’t know where to put them” table at weddings.I’m reserved, rather than gregarious. Loyal, supportive and undemanding, without a hint of jealousy. I do, however, insist on honestly answering questions asked of me, on the generally false assumption that an honest answer is desired. I will repeat this, even immediately after suffering the consequences of the first answer. It’s a feature, not a bug.I’m pretty down to earth (which i think just means that I never have, and likely never will want to own a watch that costs more than my last car), easy going and undemanding. I can’t imagine life without bacon. I like kittens and hard liquor. I refuse to pay $12 for a drink in a martini shaped glass, even if it is an actual martini. The first book report I ever wrote, in Grade 4, was on a book by Mickey Spillane. I have been known to give a copy of “The Myth of Sisyphus” to babies as birthday presents. I also have a fondness for actuaries.There is one particular Red-winged Blackbird in High Park who insists on attacking me every time I walk past his tree. Finally, sitting by a lake with a bottle of Jack on a clear moonless night, the milky way tucked in around me, is the kind of artifact I can truly celebrate.So, what am I looking for? Either someone who, based on my picture, thinks I’m hot, or someone who finds the above appealing. Someplace well-lit and with metal detectors, given that, in my experience, quasi-intellectual women are usually packing heat. Or we could just go for a coffee or a drink on a patio.

I am stable, intelligent, respectful and a pretty darn handy guy, I think I can relate well to just about any personality, I have friends from all walks of life and cultures; I'm always learning something new ... maybe you have something special you'd like to share?I enjoy the company of an active, attractive woman who is in a good place with her life and who takes life one day at time and can laugh out loud. I've been known to tell a good joke or two .. I intend to do some more recreational travelling;-introduced to the colourful gardens and the architecture and the history.Now that I have more free time I am entertaining new activities and I am open to suggestions as long as it's not jumping out of a plane or bungee jumping ... that would take some convincing to get me to do .. but just about anything else would be cool to try.I truly enjoy cooking, I have lot's of recipes to try out on someone, just who that might be? Hmmmmmm .... my favourite is grilling on a BBQ full of savory hardwood, i love the way the flavour is infused into the food, I also make a respectable pasta sauce, with or without meat and so much more ..... I am employed in a great organization that affords me flexible work hours and opportunity to apply my experience and creativity, it's so nice to work with people who are dedicated to their profession and treat each other like adults with respect and admiration.Looking forward to meeting that special one ... First thing is what kind of relationship I'm looking for. How I see it is whenever 2 people know each other they have a relationship. I think of friends as long term relationships. If the relationship becomes more than just friends great. I am looking for a woman that wants to cuddle while watching TV etc. A woman that will tell me if she wants to cuddle or hold hands etc. I don't want a woman that expects me to know what she wants, because I don't know. I don't want a woman that expects me to read her mind because I can't read minds. This does not mean anticipating her needs that's different, I am pretty good at that. Now about me. Well the people I know are my best resume. They will tell you I am kind, generous, dependable, and honest. Honesty is very important to me. It has been known to get me in trouble when I am to honest from time to time. Sometimes I can't get my opinions across very well because of it. Some of the other things I like to do are things that make me think. Expanding the mind is important to me. This could be experiencing something new, watching a movie, going sailing or climbing a mountain. Just so long as it makes me think or teaches me something new, these things are so much better when doing them with someone special. I am willing to try just about anything new, if I don't like it I won't do it again. I love kids and how they look at life. I have been told I act like a kid from time to time. I'll laugh at things and sometimes people won't understand why. I am very positive and always try to see the positive side of things, although I understand reality. I believe that I should always be the best person I feel I can be. My perfect first date would most of the day. It would start off by going for a sail in the morning. Getting to know my date and her getting to know me. That may not be the best first date however maybe more suited to the second or third date. To bad I don't have a boat right now so *** sailing, we will have to go for dinner or coffee. The main thing is we get to talk and get to know each other while both of us being as comfortable as possible.
