I always ask myself: "If I were BLIND and I could not see her beauty, would I still like/love her" So maybe that's a reason why I'm still single! :-) ........... Everyone should have a dream. My "Dream" is to be in love with and be loved by my "Best Friend". Living on the oceanfront, you will find me on the beach, going for a run, or just enjoying the views. I'm starting to practice YOGA, I'm not good and look really foolish at it. I also maintain a beach home on Kauai and stay there often, hang out and just play like a teenager. I will not try to impress you with possessions, or with what I can have. Actually a person should be measured by what they GIVE! Not what they Have! I can know the REAL you and you can tell me your innermost secrets. I can then be your cheerleader and confidant. I am out here for LOVE... and I want to be LOVED! I am sometimes crazy, sometimes smart, mostly fun, and occasionally grumpy. I can be very spontaneous and even naughty! The Real measure of a MAN is what's between his Ears, Your Heart! can see so much more of what is right for YOU! than your Eyes! One should not need to measure something that is very "Large or Small" it is, what it is at a glance. Otherwise, leave this gathering." -RumiWriting about myself is difficult, but required, so here's my brief ramble. ~~I feel that the focused pursuit of end results alone leads to unhappiness. For me, happiness comes through the process of getting where I'm going. Sharing that experience with a partner, and taking part in their journey, makes the experience more meaningful. ~~I am a sane and loving person who connects well with others. I value friends and family and animals. I'm politically left of center and that is reflected in my work as a business owner, filmmaker, teacher, writer, and musician. I have a personal prescription that requires an hour of humor every day. ~~I am spiritually tuned to the world but non-dogmatic. I am a panentheist whose beliefs are most closely reflected by Taoism but am comfortable with many traditions. I believe honesty is truly the best policy--nobody was ever caught telling a truth. Rumi's advice was to risk everything for love. That appears to be the main reason we are here--to love and be loved. From my experience, relationships must have three elements to succeed: intimacy, commitment and passion. If any of these is missing, it just won't work. Having these parts in place is only one step. Balancing them with the needs and interests of the individuals and, at the same time, creating an environment that allows the main three to grow and evolve over time--well, that's the trick, isn't it? I believe it can be done. The binders that hold it all together are humor, openness, honesty and acceptance. I think we all want the same thing; to adore someone and be adored in return. A good relationship is worth working and persevering for. Finally, I hate coathangers; they tangle, hide out behind the dryer and mock me.Well, it appears that I am surprisingly capable of writing on and on about myself.     I am a kind and generous person who loves to be with people and to find joy in each and every day. I am enthused about cycling, cross country skiing, golf and travel, especially when doing them with a group of friends. I'm proffesionally employed and have enjoyed working in the area of my expertise for almost 30 years. I plan to work for another ***years fulltime followed by a lighter schedule (semi-retire) to accomodate more travel and to spend time with family and friends.
