Hi,I'm a single mom of a 14-year old boy who is looking for men with similar values and goals. I'm very health-conscious, love animals and music. I was a volunteer at a local hospital while unemployed and discovered that I love working with people, especially the elderly. I'm currently employed as a home health aide which I love. It took me awhile to find out what I really enjoy doing (and can make money at) but now I can't imagine doing anything else. One of my future goals is to get a dog and train it to become a therapy dog so that I can volunteer at children's hospitals, etc. I'm more of a homebody than a person who likes to go out to clubs but I enjoy eating out and going to the theatre. I grew up in a very musical household and still love everything about music. Physically, I'm in good shape and I eat healthy probably 90% of the time. I find that when I'm exercising regularly, I feel great, so I make a point of working out or walking ***times a week. I also have a great sense of humor and its important to me that the people I hang around with do too. I consider myself a "young" 53-year old and am told that I definitely don't look my age. My parents are 86 and 91 and are still very active. I think one's attitude is huge and I try and be positive most of the time and surround myself with positive people. I feel like I'm a work in progress and that its important to keep learning new things.

What can I say about myself.... I love sports, especially hockey. Go Habs Go! I enjoy board games, crib, pool, bowling and many other activities such as dancing, walking along the waterfront, beaches and parks. I read alot of mystery/romance novels and get my "ideas" to write poetry and I occasionally paint oil canvases.I have changed my profile to read that I am looking for a long-term relationship. Of course in order to reach that long-term relationship, you must date first, lol. I'm honest, caring, and very passionate. I'm a very compassionate person as well and am told I am a good listener.I love to go dancing and listen to almost any type of music. I even like Metalica, lol. The only kind of music I really don't like is Raggae, however I haven't really heard much of it. I don't mind classical and jazz, on occasion.I'm hoping to find that special someone who I can share my life and dreams with. If you are someone who shares the same interests, or not, since I am open to try different things, then I'd like to hear from you. If not, don't bother since there will only be disappointment on both ends. I'm being upfront and honest and I would hope that you would be as well.I have recently decided to try to lead a healthier lifestyle, which by the way, sometimes can be a daily struggle, but I try. I like most animals, however, to be honest, I am not a cat lover at all and since I also get all stuffed up with itchy/watery eyes, I'd hazard a guess that I am allergic to them. I'm pretty much what you see. My first "breaking the ice" date, as I will call it, would most definitely be in a public place. A coffee shop or at a restaurant. Most likely somewhere we both would feel comfortable. I'm up for other suggestions as well. Once we "break the ice" and we mutually agree to a second date, then probably a movie, dinner date or whatever we decide. I'm pretty flexible.
