About Me

Not liking this part very much. Can't we just talk on the phone? I was married for 20 years. Divorced/separated now for five years. Two grown children making their own decisions while I sit back and cringe while biting my tongue. I have steady employment in the nonprofit medical field which is almost exactly what I want. Always keeping an eye out for something I might enjoy as much or more. I have worked in medical administration for about 25 years. Just became an empty nester and feel like it's time to make some changes in my life. One of those changes just may include a relationship. Hmmmmm....... Working out and trying new classes.... always a work in progress. It was a great adventure and decided to stay. Met and married. You know the rest........I have a strong personality, good work ethic and I am very committed to my family and friends. I enjoy others who have strong personalities, smart asses even and a sarcastic wit. Talking politics (not arguing), history, causes and just light banter. And, of course, total silence sometimes..... with that level of comfort that only comes with being close.Being outdoors is appealing to me in the cooler weather. Weekend trips that begin on a Friday are a must. Throw in some traveling with a purpose and I would be very happy.Music, I am all over the place. Not really rap or country though. Enjoy live events. Music outside? I will listen to just about anything. Plays, musicals, movies..... festivals, outdoor art events. Count me in.I love a really good coffee first thing in the morning when the sun is coming up and I like to end the day on the patio. Talking about our day or not........The rest we can talk about over coffee or a drink maybe. Feel free to ask me questions. I won't respond to 'meet me' requests. If you are truly interested, just send a message. Not sure.... what is a good first date? Coffee but not at a Starbucks. Somewhere more off the beaten track and outside.A drink. The same. Not the trendy place but the hole in the wall with good live music. Maybe you know a place. An outdoor event. With the cooler weather coming, there will be some fun events coming up.

I know a lot of people say they don't like this internet dating but I really, really don't! yes, I'm doing it anyway since I don't get out that much these days! I have been on and off with this for a little while and I usually decide at some point quickly again that I don't like it and shut it down!... but anyway...here goes ~ My taste in music runs from rock 'n roll to classical...I am learning to play the guitar and like to get out to see live music whenever I have the chance...all the arts!I own a boutique spin and yoga studio in NYC.I have a very good co-parenting relationship with my former husband and I'm not looking for anyone to be a father, but to simply like children (though mine are now 17 and 11 years old! My favorite place to be is at the ocean-if I could I would live at the beach! I have a motorcycle license, but not a motorcycle (yet!~ but just really wanted that license:) I own a few pairs of cowboy boots and would like a few more, I dislike pretense. I believe in the most important qualities I can hone are compassion and kindness, though I enjoy sarcasm and I have great sense of humor. I'm a very good cook and love to have adventures as well as have a warm, cozy home life and my spiritual life is equally important. I seek each day to live fully, be grateful for what I have and to be helpful to those around me.I have been described as vivacious, a good listener and passionate. ...oh and yes, all my pictures are recent (3 are from two months ago and one is from about a year ago~ A simple first date suits me, just a coffee or the like. It's usually pretty clear within an hour if we're compatible!

Hummm.....Describe myself.....Well.. I love to laugh. I try to find humor in almost everything. I'm a music lover and honestly I think the only time I don't hear some type of music in my head is when I'm sleeping. I'm mom to an adult child. Being a mom has been the best thing I've ever done and the thing I'm most proud of. I'm not super physical and I have to make myself go to the gym. It's just not high on my priority list unless I have time to spare. Plus my job is kind of physical and do I want to go workout after 8 hours of a physical beating? Probably not. I don't do out-; such but I really believe that for the right person, all things are possible. It's the give and take thing. Besides, I like to think I'm open minded and would try something I've never done if I met someone I knew it was important to. (I do have a line though as I'm very afraid of heights) I like to dress up for a nice evening and I like to lounge around in my comfys. I love movies and live entertainment with music being my very favorite. I love to people watch but don't do much of that lately. I work with the public and for the most part seeing them all day is enough.I've been told I'm a good listener, that I'm funny and sassy... Sassy? does that mean "smart a--?" I'm kind of independant but that's really because I've had to be. As for the "dating" thing on my profile, I use that term because it's what has to be done to get the end result. I'd love to find someone for the long term but I don't want to put pressure on anything. I'd like to let it grow and form in it's own time. I'm not a serial dater. Reality? I haven't been on a date in over a year. We'll see if this site changes that.So I hope you were able to find out what you needed to know from this profile. Thanks for taking the time and I hope everything works out for you the way you want it to. Are they asking about the actual first meet? I feel the first meet should be very light so you can figure out if you really want to spend a "date night" with that person. For a first meet, it's just more comfortable to meet for a drink and a little conversation somewhere easy. Drink does not mean alcohol. It means whatever you drink. But it has to be in a place where normal conversation can be heard.

I enjoy long hikes in beautiful areas and jogging on the beach. Playing tennis and swimming are very fun as well as working out and bike riding. I love the outdoors and exploring new places and discovering new adventures along the way. Travel is one of my highlights and I treasure hanging out with friends and family and celebrating life together. I love life, humor, music, poetry, reading good books, dark chocolate, honesty, having fun, red wine, open communication, harmony in relationships. Musical tastes include contemporary Christian artists, classic rock, jazz, country, and classical. My goal is to have my own business in sports medicine and nutrition where healing others is an integral part. Attending outdoor concerts are awesome especially with friends. I am searching for someone who is Christian, honest, open, friendly, funny, compassionate, enjoys connecting with others, romantic, fun-loving. I envision our first date beginning with a nice, leisurely lunch or dinner where we can take time to ask questions and get to know one another without time constraints. We may be nervous and excited at the same time yet smiles cross our faces as we begin conversing with each other and our jitters slowly fade away. After a delicious meal, we will take a stroll and discover a neighborhood club with a good band playing catchy tunes. We can't help but start dancing to the beat of the music and dance until our feet ache. We walk outside and are refreshed by the cool night air and we gaze up at the twinkling stars and constellations and notice there is a bright, full moon. Then we find a pleasant, peaceful coffee house with a jazz guitarist playing soothing music. We stop in and order some yummy iced coffees before we end the memorable night.
