You know, that whole fireworks, angels singing thing? I'm a romantic person. I think options for a first date is based on the personality of the people going out. It could be something fun like go-cart racing, laser tag or mini golf. Or it could be something like a wine tasting or microbrewery tour or even as simple as just grabbing a cup of coffee or a beer. I don't think a movie on a first date is a good idea - I mean how can you get to know someone if you have to be quiet for 2 hours???

While I was able to keep up with a few things essential to sanity, like running, my annual 2-day walk for breast cancer and spending time with friends, I'm very much enjoying reading books that I choose (!), local events and a lot of cooking. (Sometimes my friends are beneficiaries here.) Music? I'll take it live, in just about any form. The smaller the venue the better. Best kind of first date would be something casual - a drink, coffee, lunch, a trip to the Sunday market. Something to do, spark conversation and a joke or two, learn about one another.
