I am looking for a kind, intelligent person to build a relationship with. I would like someone that I can have a good conversation with, and enjoy doing things together. I grew up in a very large family that loves to dance. It does not matter what type of music. I am also looking for is someone who is confident with himself, but not controlling of others. I have been financially and emotionally independent for too long for a controlling type of relationship (no I am not basing this on past experience with other relationships; I just know what I like). I want someone as an equal who I can have an intelligent conversation with.Another good quality is a sense of humor. My favorite saying is you have to be able to laugh at life, because you know it’s laughing at you. Humor has many good qualities in itself. It can make getting through a tough day easier.My dream guy? First you would have to understand what I had growing up. My parents are soul mates. Some people may think this is silly or not real, but I have watched them over the years and know that it is true. We were working with my Mom at my parents place planning their 60th wedding anniversary. My father walked through the room and my Mom looked at me and said that she still gets butterflies in her stomach when my Dad walks through the room. My Dad will walk through on his way out the door, stop by Mom, touch her check and give her a gentle kiss. They have always been a loving couple, but most of all they are each other’s best friend. They understand that they each have their own flaws, but do not try to change each other, but are willing to understand that it is part of their makeup. So yes I am a romantic. I want someone who will bring the butterflies. I want the gentle touch and kiss for no reason. I want a friend who will listen and not judge. I want someone who has made life’s mistakes, but has learned from them, and does not dwell on them. Too many dwell on the past…the past is a springboard not a hammock. I enjoy going out and being active with the person I am seeing, it can be good to see how they react to different situations, but I also don’t need the outside stimuli. I really just like spending time alone together, snuggled up before a fire talking and getting to know the person. Another thing I need in a relationship is someone who can understand I have children. They are older and are very independent, but there are times when they are around and we very much enjoy each other’s company. Adding to the family with my parents have 49 grandchildren and 23 and counting great grandchildren). We all love to laugh, dance and enjoy being together. We all support each other no matter what we may be going through. Meet for a cup of coffee or a drink and get to know each other.
