About Me

Divorced father of 2 great kids, both teens. I am fully employed and educated. I like going for drives in the country, bicycling, walking, watching movies and, of course, doing stuff with the kids. I love to play softball. I'm a great cook, can bake like Grandma and view life as an activity in itself. I watch Big Brother faithfully. I have an optimistic outlook and have, for the most part, got my s**t together. Very creative soul with a keen sense of humor. **************I truly believe there is a perfect woman for me out there and this my chance to find her. I've added some specifics to narrow my audience.The Good *** I am a healthy, active guy with 2 great teens. I have a great job, aspirations to get ahead and possess a strong work ethic. My baggage is safely stowed and I still have dreams and goals.I love to cook and am always trying new dishes as well as perfecting my own creations. If you love diner food, I'm your guy! I have all of my mother's recipes and a few of her mother's. I can bake like them also.I play softball in the summer, and try to keep active in the winter through kid's activities and walking. I love to go for long walks. We love to tour around the province in the summer but its been a long time since I've been farther. I'm not much of a traveller, I guess, but would like to be. I read often and always love to learn something new. I am a creative, accomplished handyman and can fix or build almost anything. I love many kinds of music but I'm not particularily fond of country.I am intelligent, personable, presentable & funny. I spend a lot of time with my kids and, so far, am doing a good job of raising them. Their mother and I have long since forgotten the past and now work well together for their future. The Bad *** I grew up rough. I left home before my 15th birthday, lived on the streets and basically raised myself the hard way. After the age of 35 I finished my high school, went to college and on to university while working simultaneously. I am now respected for the skills I carry and the old me is a different person from a long time ago. Some of the baggage I carry from those days are a minor criminal record (which is why I don't travel much), street smarts (you can take the kid out of the streets but you can't take the streets out of the kid) & a 34 year old daughter I've never met (but plan to soon).I very rarely drink and quit cigarettes a while ago.What I'm looking for?Someone fairly active but not too maniacal.     I enjoy my work as flatbed truck driver , it is challenging and skill level to needed to drive with oversized loads .Have evenings off and weekends .Work 50 hrs or more a week so it does present challenges when it comes to dating and spending quality time with a friend. However am home every night and off weekends .Enjoy going for a drive on back roads see the country side ideally this would be more fun with a companion.I plan on purchasing a travel trailer I near future so it is paid for when retirement comes along , the lady I want in my life should be into this parking somewhere for a few weeks at a time relaxing by a lake or river , going for walks ect.Enjoy cooking , chatting over a meal , a good movie, listening to birds sing and watch them.Love all kinds of music except rape , classical, and real heavy rock where all it is screaming believe it is called grunge.Love wearing a suite and tie when the need for it comes up, or comfortable in jeans or in a pair of shorts and sandals .Not into track pants and such in public only at home relaxing , wear a belt not a rope to keep my pants up:-) .
