Hi there! Thanks for dropping in to read my profile =) I live in the Barrie area, and have for the past 17 years. I am originally from the small town up north, which is where I believe I developed my love for nature and the outdoors.Growing up, I played hockey for 7 years but unfortunately had to stop playing once I started working full-time. Even though I don't have time to play on a league anymore, I still love going out skating or having a scrimmage with some friends on outdoor rinks during the winter. I have also always had a passion for animals... basically any type, but especially dog. I recently completed the Community & Justice Services program at Georgian College, and am currently working as a Residential Support Worker with adults who have developmental disabilities. I also volunteer on a Youth Justice Committee working with young offenders and their families. As for my personality - I am a very simple, laid-back, down to earth, and compassionate person. I am very sincere and friendly, but can also be shy at times. I don't like the club or bar scene - I'd much rather sit with a bunch of friends and have a couple beers. I recently graduated with my degree in counseling psychology. I have two great jobs which I enjoy. Some might classify me as a psychotic overachiever at all these things, but I prefer motivated and dedicated?! Work and working out take up a lot of time for me but relaxing or letting loose is a must have in my life. This can come in the form of backyard BBQ's, going for drinks, getting all dolled up and going out on the town for the night, or kickin' it in sweats while watching a movie... and am always up for a new challenge. I love to travel, my desire to travel sparked from a 6 week long trip to Africa in which I saw 5 countries. Seeing the wonders the world has to offer fueled my passion.I would say most describe me as extremely outgoing, driven, caring, motivated, athletic, and responsible. I want someone I can be myself with (no makeup and all), laugh at ourselves and eachother. Someone who is smart and has aspirations for what they want in life. Someone I can talk to for hours but we can also sit in silence comfortably. Someone I can hike a mountain with, in this country or another, but can also enjoy a lazy day. Well first off, I love food. The saying "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach"...also applies to me :)However I love getting out and doing something on a date. Whether it's a walk down town, taking a drive up the Monument, hiking, take on the aqaurium or zoo, anything that gives us a chance to talk and get to know each other in a less formal setting. I'm always in to try new things, I might look a little freaked out but don't mind the facial expression I'll drive in and try it, minus super spicy foods (not really my thing).

My family, limited as it is, is very important to me. My father isn't around, so I have a pretty close relationship with my mother. I have a sister that I love. I cherish my friends to no end.My interests include: psychology, yoga, coffee, science fiction, rock/jazz music, learning about and experiencing other cultures, traveling, TV series, horror/action/sci-fi/comedy movies, RPG video games, running, books, art, long walks, pool, cards, kayaking, swimming. I love being outside, particularly on or near a body of water. I find the most peace when I'm either kayaking, canoeing, or just laying in water. I'm not interested in anyone who is against gay rights, so if you are... please don't waste my time. I hate hunting, love fishing. So if all your pictures are of dead deer, I'm going to pass. Kids are not a dealbreaker necessarily, but I'm kind of at the age where I really want to be able to come first in a relationship. Selfish, maybe, but there you have it.Sense of humor is absolutely vital for me. If we can't laugh, there's no point to us even talking. I'm pretty easygoing for first dates. Coffee, conversation, a meal, maybe a movie or a walk. I would prefer something low pressure for the first time.
