First dates to me shouldn't be the most romantic night. I think flowers, candy and fancy restaurants are well deserved for a relationship. It's more rewarding when you can enjoy the moment with someone you actually know. Therefor: A library, coffee house, mall somewhere super public would be ideal. If things don't pan out I have the option to buy a shirt! And if they do, dinner and a drink are always comfortable settings to get to know someone.
