Woman. 43 years old. Zodiac sign: Virgo.
Looking for: man. In age: 40-50
I'm not a woman you look at and think "wow, she's beautiful" but I am the kind you get to know and think"wow, she's beautiful." I am confident but not conceited. I'm out-going and thoughtful but can be selfish and insensitive as well. I enjoy good conversation and I love to laugh. What I'm looking for on here is friendship. Yes, I'm a single mom but I'm not looking to be rescued. I don't need to be rescued. I am a strong-minded woman and I know who I am. I don't care how much money you make or what expensive toys you have. Material things are not character. I care about honesty, loyalty, sincerity, family values and the such. I've been hurt just like everyone else but I'm not bitter or jaded and I'm not afraid of having feelings for someone. I do think friendship first is the key to any successful relationship. I like to be comfortable and be myself. I like to be silly, I can be corny, I'm a clutz, I have blonde moments but I'm intelligent, and sometimes I'm just a dork. I'm very sweet and thoughtful. I think surprising someone is more exciting for me than who I surprise. I'm a pretty good cook, too. So if you're going to drink a protein shake *** eating the chicken fried steak and gravy I make, there will definitely be a problem. Looks are only part of what attracts me to someone. In other words, I really don't want to date a pretty pet rock. II've probably watched too much Dateline, Who the Bleep Did I Marry, Dates Gone Wrong and so on - I'm a little skeptical and will have to talk to someone a little while before agreeing to make a date. I guess if you're a serial killer then you'll have to work a little to kill me. I understand the laws of attraction but if all you can think of to discuss with me are my boobs or butt, you will probably get ***'m not trying to be harsh, just being honest and saving you some time.

Woman. 42 years old. Zodiac sign: Aries.
Looking for: man. In age: 39-49
After much giggling and guffawing w/a male friend who is also on this site, I've rewritten this profile a gazillion times to be less descriptive and less informative than I'd like. According to him, more words than a sports blurb is too much reading effort. While I put up a good fight, I deferred to him b/c he's a man and clearly has the inside scoop. I'm a great girl - that's really all I want to convey. I'm silly, smart, sassy, wise, kind, intelligent, spirited, goofy, funny, responsible, practical, thrifty, adventurous, gentle, fierce, affectionate, loving, quirky and respectful. I can also be a right pain in the ass - stubborn, willful, anxious and restless. Nowhere near perfect...I know myself pretty well and I work to be a better me every day. Having said that, I like who I am right now just fine. I've never married b/c I spent my 20s on my education and my 30s on my career - I'm sometimes surprised that I'm 42 years old already. I don't have a shady past, I don't have a criminal record, I've never done drugs or suffered any psychiatric or behavioral disorders. I've been in a few long- term relationships that didn't work out for various reasons. I'm okay with that and am not lugging around a bunch of baggage. I grew up overseas and would travel the world if I could. Most of my friendships are lifelong and span the spectrum of personalities. I am fortunate to have surrounded myself with fun-loving, adventurous and supportive people. My political views lean to the liberal side. I support prochoice, gay marriage, separation of church and state, gun control, privacy of citizens and responsibly managed social service programs. If you are a like-minded stable guy who enjoys his life, takes care of his responsibilities, loves to travel and has a silly streak, we might hit it off. I'm looking to meet a man who makes me laugh, someone witty, someone kind, someone smart, someone willing engage in genuine conversation and share experiences. If you are the obnoxious life of the party, the player, the fitness or sports fanatic, the dude living on the fringe of society or the self-important rich kid, I'm probably not the girl for you. A few automatic brownie points: well written, descriptive profile (which includes grammar, punctuation and spelling) and *** "hey there". If I need a teenager to translate your message, I'm definitely not the girl for you (ex: ";). I will never meet you right away. If you don't have the patience to communicate with me in a way that I feel comfortable, please don't bother. I also respectfully request that you NOT send pictures of yourself flexing your muscles, bare chested in the bathroom mirror. Yuck.PS) A friend just informed me that "I want to date but nothing serious" is synonymous with "seeking a player" so let me clarify my interpretation. I chose the "not serious" category b/c the "looking to get married immediately and have lots of babies" is too much for me. Dating someone could lead to a commitment, which is why I didn't choose the "casual/no commitment" option. So, when I say "I want to date but nothing serious" it doesn't mean I want a player or that I am a player. It means there's a potential for commitment if you're the right one for me but it takes time to date to know that. A casual drink or dinner where we can talk is just fine.

Follow your heart and the rest will fall into place. This quote is my mantra - and each day I look for ways that I can live these words.Friends, family and fun. One of my goals is to spend time with friends who love life as much as I do. So many things to do - be outside, learn to play guitar, maybe take some painting classes, concerts, dinner parties, outdoor festivals. I am looking forward to autumn - it is my favorite time of the year. Older homes are my passion - and I enjoy renovation and making homes look loved again. I guess that is why I am a realtor. I am currently renovating my house - it is the 3rd one that I have tackled and is my largest project to date.Art is a big part of what I do. I mostly admire art and artists, but I do dabble a bit in my own creations. Mostly writing and making jewerly for friends and family.Music - I love music. My most favorite band is G Love and Special Sauce, but I like a variety of music - except country. The range I like goes from Jazz, Techno, Alternative, Dub Step ... yes, I said Dub Step.People will tell you that I am one of the nicest persons you will meet. I agree with that, but will also add that I am fun, sometimes goofy, driven, compassionate and love to interact with others.I have 3 dogs and 2 cats - and an adopted stray cat. If you are not a pet person, we probably won't see eye-to-eye on a lot of things. I love Downtown and older buildings and rarely go into the suburbs. I rarely frequent malls, large restaurant chains ... just not my style.I am passionate about sustainable living, recycling, reusing things, and making our world a better place. I support local businesses and go out of my way to make sure that I am making my world a better place than when I found it.Good luck with your search. Maybe we will meet each other in this process!- Downtown places are a way to my heart. Let's discuss the art and take a walk in the park.
