About Me

I'm back. Again. After taking a break from meetville I find myself once again back here. Although this is not a bad place to be, its really not my intent to stay here for long.With that said, I'll give a brief description of me and what I am about.I am a single mom of 2 kids, although they aren't kids anymore. Both are over 20. I own my own home, car, work full time at a job I love. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, although I don't get there as often as I'd like. working long hours, house maintenance inside and out take up many of the 48 hours that I am not at my "paid" job.So if I find myself too exhausted from a long day at work, I enjoy sitting on my deck listening to nature, having a glass of wine and just decompress.I love going for walks, biking, sitting on an out door patio, going by the canal, taking a drive in the country, cooking a meal with someone over a glass (or 2) of wine, campfires, sitting by the water, enjoying nature. Simple things.I like to travel although haven't had many opportunities to do so. I do plan on travelling hopefully in the near future. Family and friends are very important to me. I will defend them and anyone else. I will especially protect anyone vulnerable - animals, children, elderly - without a second thought.Truth, honesty, respect is #1 for me. If you can't offer that in a relationship (friendship or romantic), then it wont work. Physical attraction will spark my interest, but sense of humour, personality and charm will keep my attention! Looking for someone genuine, who has a positive attitude, a great sense of humour, is laid back and doesn't take himself or life too seriously . If there is a spark and we connect, everything else will fall into place.It could be my old fashioned values but there's nothing more attractive than a confident guy who takes initiative. :0)I've put dating on here as what I am looking for but ultimately I would like to have a relationship. It all starts with friendship and dating.I have put 'a few extra pounds' on here as I find the majority of people do in some capacity or another have a few extra pounds - I'm no exception.     A little about me -- I have been described as 'unique' -- I interpret this description as positive as I am not like other women. I am easygoing, independent, and not at all clingy. I try to find balance in my life -- I work hard and dedicate myself to give my all...but I won't let my work dominate my free time nor define who I am. The same holds true with a relationship -- give my all; keep it real; keep it fun. Some key elements that I've discovered -- I feel that you cannot force a relationship and, at times, I have found this a very unnatural way to meet someone. A secure man needs no props nor swagger. I do believe chemistry is key but it doesn't make for compatibility. I feel the chemistry can evolve over time when getting to know someone (not too much time!). If it has to be forced, then maybe we aren't a match.     Well I have been on here for a bit. I find that internet dating impersonal but it is the in thing. Well what can I say about myself. I am intelligent but not arrogant. I am respectful to those who are respectful to me. I love my job. I swim a lot and try to work out as much as I can. I love travelling and of course I love different kinds of foods. I consider myself cultured but not snobby.I like simple things. For example some days I go down to the pond (High Park area) and feed the ducks. When it is a nice day, I read in the park. Go for a nice ice cream, What else. I love Christmas so I decorate my apartment like crazy. The fact that I live alone, I guess I decorate my apartment for me, Remembering days of when I was a little girl and we always had a tree. Brings back nice memories. I am not selfish and I am not into designer stuff. If I see something I like I do buy it but I don't feel I have to have the latest in fashion. I do like good perfume though and some nice cut flowers near my bed. Bubble baths and chilled champagne. I do like to read a lot. Mostly biographies on political figures. History etc. As for music, depending on the, if I' m alone I listen to classical and read, yes having a glass of red wine.
