It is amazing how everyone seems so adventurous and outgoing here. Yet when it comes to dating one can't be bothered to put forth any effort. I maintain a healthy lifestyle after losing ~10 lbs. I'm funny, honest, shy initially, sarcastic, educated, independent, loyal, quirky, goofy, and sometimes geeky. I'm comfortable in shoes or a T-shirt and Jeans I always look classic on them. Yeah, I know it sounds just as ridiculous and selfish. So please don't go there. I have been single for 3yrs, I own my house, and have a great job where I have been for 5yrs. I tend to have old-fashioned values. I believe in treating others the way I'm treated. I always say please and thank you. Yet I've been known to swear like a sailor. I enjoy all types of foods and trying new things. family is very important to me but I do value my alone time on occasion. I am a morning person by nature up at 5:30 out by 10 most nights. I'm content with a quiet night at home watching movies most nights but I wouldn't be opposed to a night out on the town once in a while. I am very passionate about music. My favorite genre is classic rock and anything from the '80s. Journey and Foreigner being my absolute favorite band. I also love to travel especially to the Caribbean or anywhere warm. The lack of effort and follow-through these days is extremely disheartening. It seems the notion of romance and wooing is gone. No one knows how to date anymore. This is why I am making it very clear the type of man I'm looking for. You should be a man who is not afraid to express himself/show interest, send flowers and plan actual dates, etc. Dates that involve activities are how you get to know someone. If I meet someone I click with I want to be able to spend quality time with that person not just texting. Developing a relationship only seeing each other on weekends or every other is difficult. I am looking for that "nice man" but chemistry/physical attraction is important. I will admit I do tend to have a "type". I'm generally attracted to professional, intelligent, educated men, a clean-cut look, men of my own ethnicity, usually a bit older/younger, and have a quiet/calm but confident demeanor. Someone who takes care of themselves and is trying to live a healthy lifestyle is also a plus. These things are not all set in stone but it gives you an idea of what I'm generally attracted to.
