I believe you can tell pretty much everything you need to know about one's personality by looking at their bookcase, DVD collection and music collection. Thanks to Netflix, iPod and Kindle who can tell anything about anybody anymore? I love to read, I enjoy a wide variety of movies andI have a love of music...all kinds, really. My favourite is Country...followed by Alternative Rock from the early-Mid 90's.; pretty much everything in between. I consider myself respectfully opinionated. I claim no political affiliation. My religious views are just as complex, but I am a Christian. If you're hardcore Right or Left we probably won't get along. your religious preference isn't as important to me as mine is...but be respectful. I believe in a guy that walked on water, turned water to wine and rose from the dead. I think I know how ridiculous that sounds. But it's my thing. I won't bash yours, be respectful of mine. Needless to say, I have very non-traditional beliefs, though steeped in Christian roots. Again...we don't have to agree 100%. Just respect each other.I love me some football... Yes. I'm accustomed to disappointment.What am I looking for? I'm overall pretty happy with my life right now. Not to say there isn't room for something more...or someone. I'm just not one of those clingy desperate types that HAS to have someone NOW. I'm a pretty laid back fella, though I am self-aware enough to look around and realize that at my age, something might be missing. I, like you probably, have been through some pretty disappointing experiences in the realm of relationships. I am determined to make sure that the person I 'settle down with' is someone I am sure about. I know, that's a tall order for any of us, but that's where my head is. I want to meet my best friend. Sometimes, you fall in love with your best friend. Sometimes, you simply have a great friend. There's a science to it. It's called Chemistry and we don't have it with just anyone. Needless to say, I am not looking for a relationship and if your goal is to find a dad for your kids or your next husband or boyfriend, understand that I have done all of that and it just isn't my thing. I'm looking primarily for friends. I make no promises after that. And don't read into that that I just want a FWB situation. Far from it. I'm not here for booty calls any more than I am here for a ring. I'm just here to meet people...be social...broaden horizons. As far as what you should know about ME...It's very awkward talking about one's self like this. As you can read, I speak my mind and I'm unapologetic. But I've been told I am a good friend...good sense of humour...charming...fun to be around...reliable...dependable...umm...I'm not a bad guy I don't guess. People seem to like me.I try to be a happy person. I try not to bring my personal drama and problems into my relationships. I have friends for that sort of thing. If you're the kind that is always going on about the bad stuff, move along please. I have enough of that. I'm looking for positivity. I prefer younger women, but I am open. Not being in the market to really commit at the moment, it seems moot, but when it comes to romantic interests, my tastes skew younger. Here's what I am NOT: I don't camp. I don't fish. I don't hunt. I have NO idea about auto-mechanics. I don't go 4- I don't go mudding. I don't go Frog Giggin'. Hell, I don't even really understand what that is. My point is, I am a southerner...but not really all that country. I love Country music...but I don't do a lot of the things people down here do...which makes it difficult to meet new people with whom I have things in common. I'm a different sorta fella than most I guess. Just putting it out there so you're forewarned. I have tried all of the above (save the frog giggin') and it's just not my thing. I don't equate masculinity with sitting in the woods covered in animal urine with the sole intent to kill another living creature. Nothing against those that do...just not for me. I'm not a hippie or whatever, I just don't get into that. I'll eat said living creature AFTER someone else kills it...heck, I'll even cook the thing. :) I enjoy cooking. I actually enjoy cooking a GREAT deal. It's one of my favourite things. Now...if you like to clean? We're in business. I reluctantly clean too...but help is always appreciated. For a first date, I prefer something low stress and casual. Something like dinner where we can enjoy a good conversation and getting to know each other. I'm good with even a quick coffee meet-up or a walk through the park. The main thing is spending quality time getting to know each other.
