Waste of time and money. So, I have now decided that initial dates be ice cream/coffee/martinis/desert in a cool setting like Cafe Destare or the Dessert Bar where you can have a conversation and tune into the person you're speaking with. The really romantic stuff comes after a mutual decision that both reach after that first date, if successful. Second and subsequent dates, now that's another story. Country drives in the fall to have hot cider while picking the perfect pumpkin, or going out in the dead of winter to one of the tree farms to get that all-important fresh cut Christmas tree, those are the things that make life worth living.
