There is no *** on relationships and it's even more bewildering of where to meet other guys who have honest intentions to stick around for five years, like my previous relationship, rather than guys who will stick around for five weeks and then bolt when the next guy who is perceived to be better comes along. Well, guess what? I am not disposable and if someone is not willing to put an effort over the long-term to get to know me and if they suddenly drop off the face of the earth, it's best to pass on me right now. I do not believe that I will ever meet my next partner on a dating web site, phone app, a bar/club, or even in the frozen food aisle at my supermarket. I think if I meet him, it will happen in the spur of the moment and when I least expect it. With that said, I am looking for a traditional relationship that is monogamous and where he and I will delete our online profiles and the phone apps cold turkey. I do not have a long laundry list of things I want to find in a prospective partner but I do have some standards. I would like him to be intelligent, mature, has goals in life, a good communicator, never taking his partner for granted, and someone who fully loves himself so he can love his partner back. Obviously, there has to be some initial attraction, whether it be physical or not. But in order for things to work, there has to be natural chemistry when first meeting and not a one-way conversation that feels forced or uncomfortable. Everything else, I can probably compromise and make sacrifices on. I do not believe in the idea that a relationship is ***. One day, your partner gives 60 while the other gives 40 while on another day, that partner may only be able to give 20 while the other gives 80. In other words, couples have their ups and downs and that's why it takes two to comfort, support, and give unconditional love and sacrifices to each other. I suppose the older one gets, particularly in their 30s and 40s, it becomes more difficult to find love as everybody seems to be ageist and wanting someone without any leeway within a certain age bracket. From my own experience, none of us are going to find everything that we want in a prospective partner. Sadly, this close-mindedness is why so many gay men lead solitary lives, simply because they do not want to lower their standards. Trust me when I say that I am the type of guy that someone would want to take home to introduce to his mom and family. I am special and like no other. And for the right guy, I promise that I am worth the investment of time and effort.
