I'm an elementary school teacher. I lived in AZ for three years to teach after college and moved back to MI in June ***. I'm hoping to meet new people and although I'd like to take things slow and start as friends, in the long-run I am looking to be in an exclusive relationship. My profession is very female-dominated so I've been having a hard time meeting the opposite sex, as well as people my age. I feel a little behind in life as the majority of my friends are either engaged, married, pregnant, have kids, etc... so our priorities are different. I like to be social and mingle, but you need people to go out with to be able to do that :-) Well, that's me and why I'm online in a nutshell. The rest is a little more about me, but let's be honest, you read a few lines, sure, but based your decision on my pictures :-) I'm fun-loving and a bit of a perfectionist. I'm a leader and not a follower. I believe that in giving you receive and in the basic principle of karma: what you put out to the world is what you get back. I believe in shaking it (aka doing a little dance) when you feel the urge. I enjoy friendly banter and getting a little feisty at times to keep people on their toes. I believe that you are the company you keep. I believe in the power of kindness. I never forget a face. I'm very independent. Maybe too much so for my own good, so it will take that special person to be a 'partner in crime.' I feel that I am usually the dependable/reliable one taking care of others and what I would really like is someone who can also be that for me. I'm about 5'6" and have dark brown eyes and light brown hair. I describe myself as curvy, but categorizing myself into a specific body-type is difficult. I'm not thin and I'm not fat. I take care of myself, exercise when I can (I love to dance and Zumba! I even *** first class this year for 8 weeks!) and am conscious about the foods I eat (but not overly strict... you have to enjoy yourself, too). I love to go out dancing and love music. I enjoy simple things in life. I'm not really the adventurous type. I like doing a little social drinking and going out occasionally but I also like having nights in, staying at home with a movie or good book and relaxing. It's all about balance.I am basically looking for someone respectful, honest, and funny. I'm looking for some maturity and someone who has their 'stuff' together. I'm really just looking for someone who is good company to experience the little, and big, things in life with. I love a great sense of humor and someone who is an overall gentleman. I am shy, but if you can get past that I'm friendly and loyal.I am a down-home, country-at-heart girl, but I love an excuse to get dressed up. The downside to that is that one of my pet peeves is grammar and spelling errors, so maybe run your messages through spellcheck before you send them. I recently transitioned from working in a factory to working in the headquarters of a big corporation. It's been a big change for my life, but in the best possible way. It is not my dream job, but I am thankful for the opportunity to get my foot in the door. I have few hobbies, but they all involve being outside. I enjoy vegetable gardening, cooking, camping, and fishing.I have a 10'x20' vegetable garden in my back yard where I grow heirloom vegetables from seed. I take immense pleasure from seeing something start from practically nothing.I am a grill gal--it's my favorite way to cook! My favorite meal to cook on the grill is a bacon-I am a rustic camper, which means I bring in everything I'll need. No running water, electrical hook-ups, or trailers for me. It's whatever you can carry!I fish, but mainly for panfish. I've never had anyone who could take me out fishing for game fish. My favorite books have some sort of fantasy element to them and are typically series. --The Emberverse series by S. M.-- K. Rowling -Movies are pretty hit and miss for me. I will not watch horror movies though.My taste in television is varied. There are usually only a few shows I watch each season.I'm into: -Justified -Sons of Anarchy -Downton Abbey -Girls -True Blood -The Newsroom -Boardwalk Empire -Game of Thrones -Mad Men -The Walking Dead --Body of Proof -Grey's Anatomy -Supernatural -Glee -Bones -Magic City -The White QueenPlus a bunch of stuff that isn't on the air anymore, like: -United States of Tara -Big Love -Hung -Sex and the CityMusic tastes are all over the board. I like pretty much anything that isn't really heavy screamer music. I just can't get into that stuff.I like food. Nothing too extreme, but I can usually be persuaded to try something. My cooking tends towards Italian. I am a foodie, through and through. I like American, Italian, steakhouses, and sushi. I prefer independent restaurants to chains. I dig casual restaurants all the way up to formal attire required places; I like the casual atmosphere of a microbrewery, but love the feeling of being dressed up as well. I'm looking for someone of character. I want someone who will do what is right over what is easy. I want someone with a solid work ethic, someone who isn't afraid of work, but knows how to have a good time, too. I'm willing to put some effort in on my end, but I have to know that you're willing to do the same.
