I'm an elementary school teacher. I lived in AZ for three years to teach after college and moved back to MI in June ***. I'm hoping to meet new people and although I'd like to take things slow and start as friends, in the long-run I am looking to be in an exclusive relationship. My profession is very female-dominated so I've been having a hard time meeting the opposite sex, as well as people my age. I feel a little behind in life as the majority of my friends are either engaged, married, pregnant, have kids, etc... so our priorities are different. I'm a leader and not a follower. I believe that in giving you receive and in the basic principle of karma: what you put out to the world is what you get back. I believe in shaking it (aka doing a little dance) when you feel the urge. I enjoy friendly banter and getting a little feisty at times to keep people on their toes. I believe that you are the company you keep. I believe in the power of kindness. I never forget a face. I'm very independent. Maybe too much so for my own good, so it will take that special person to be a 'partner in crime.' I feel that I am usually the dependable/reliable one taking care of others and what I would really like is someone who can also be that for me. I'm about 5'6" and have dark brown eyes and light brown hair. I describe myself as curvy, but categorizing myself into a specific body-type is difficult. I'm not thin and I'm not fat. I take care of myself, exercise when I can (I love to dance and Zumba! I even *** first class this year for 8 weeks!) and am conscious about the foods I eat (but not overly strict... you have to enjoy yourself, too). I love to go out dancing and love music. I enjoy simple things in life. I'm not really the adventurous type. I like doing a little social drinking and going out occasionally but I also like having nights in, staying at home with a movie or good book and relaxing. It's all about balance.I am basically looking for someone respectful, honest, and funny. I'm looking for some maturity and someone who has their 'stuff' together. I'm really just looking for someone who is good company to experience the little, and big, things in life with. I love a great sense of humor and someone who is an overall gentleman. I consider myself a mature geek. Yes I like anime and enjoy Marvel movies. I loved the XMen since I was a kid, so I'm glad to see some movie justice. I do have a love of Peanuts/ Snoopy. I have a different view on comedy steamed from my love of the work by Charles Addams. I have a love of anime and character design in my non work time. I am still a kid at heart and love items that remind me of time past. I'm not all geek though. I love sitting outside and watching nature at its finest. I enjoy art and have dabbled in photography. I have a strong family bond and enjoy being around my family as much as possible. I'm quite reserved at times until I get to know someone better and can really open up.How I typically spend my leisure time: I love to read during my down time. I also use that time to catch up on my dvr. I love different types of music ranging from Country to Pop, Rock, Alternative. Not a fan of rap though.What I look for in a guy is really three things that all work together. There must be honesty and trust, without that a relationship is doomed. Also, communication is key. Without the ability to communicate with each other, there can be no trust. I'm also looking for a guy who has goals for his life and has pursued a degree of some type. I have a Masters and don't necessarily want to be in a relationship where I outshine my partner due to the high nature of my degree.
