The past decade of my life has been full of stuff I never could have imagined growing up in a very conservative home in Texas, among the things I could have never imagined are doing something like this (owning my vulnerability, I'm not totally comfortable with all of this but here I am none the less). I have had my fair share of joy and pain along the way and it has all shaped who I am today. I am in the midst of big transition and open to some fresh faces in my life. I love my family and friends. I like Byron Katie, Pema Chodron, Elizabeth Lesser and Audre Lorde's writing and I love talking and thinking life stuff. I love TED Talks too. I'm thoughtful but I really like to have fun and be silly too. And my life gives me plenty of material for that, like my co-worker talking about his colonoscopy or tripping in front of 15k people once and on and on. Elizabeth Lesser teaches that if you face your embarrassment at your own humanity you'll find a deep well of compassion and passion....so far, I can't argue with that teaching and feel blessed by all that comes my way from the sometimes odd awkward hilariously painful stuff that is life.
