About Me

I am a strong, loving, nurturing mom to an 9 year old boy. I also recently took on the challenge of adopting my 11 year old niece and her 4 year old brother. I love kids and can appreciate a good parent when I meet one. About me...I am a 5'7" full figured woman with confidence. If you aren't attracted to 'Plus Sized' women then I am not the one for you. I won't classify myself as 'Thick', 'A few extra pounds' or 'Large'. It all depends on your perception of me. Either way, please don't waste my time if you are looking for Barbie. I am health concious and I am working on myself, but I am not looking to be judged. I am faithful, fun, loyal, loving, feisty, cool and honest. I cook, I clean, and I love being a mom. My better half wouldn't be super into himself. He would make me laugh and likes to have fun. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty (cause I'm not) and he likes to fix things. He can read a tape measurer and will help me paint. He knows what he wants and values what he has. He is caring and affectionate and can handle a little bit of a challenge from me from time to time. I am not getting any younger, and hope to find that one who I can't live without.I love country music as well as R&B. There's nothing like a good country concert. I'm not looking to go clubbing or to a lounge. If I'm going to go out I would prefer a hole in the wall bar or somewhere with good music that is chill. A jeans and flip flops kind of place :) No movies for a first date - that's just awkward. A walk on the beach or a drink some place low key sounds good. No need for an elaborate dinner followed by a drive up the coast. I'm a pretty simple girl :)

    First, I would like to say that my profile says my career as teaching. That is true although I was able to retire early and I am loving it! I also had other businesses on the side. I raised rabbits commercially for about 10 years, and also had my own ice-cream business that I was successful at for 15 years. I am happy that I am able to retire early in good health and young enough to enjoy an active retirement. Most of these photos were all taken less than a year ago. I love the coast but prefer to live in the valley. Although I have so many things I enjoy and like learning new things, hiking, dancing, and fishing seem to be what I do the most of. I belong to several hiking meet up groups and have been square dancing and ballroom dancing since ***. And I do enjoy live outdoor concerts in the summer. I enjoy travel and experiencing new cultures. I have been to several countries and many of the Caribbean Islands. Due to circumstances I have not traveled much in the last four years, and am content with the travel I have done. However, if the right opportunity arises to experience new places/cultures, I would no doubt go. I have a happy, friendly, positive personality. I am honest, sincere, loyal, and love life. I laugh and smile a lot. I am also responsible and take things serious when I need to, but I don't sweat the small stuff. I seem to always end up on top even through the tough things. I lost my husband from an unexpected heart attack March of '09. I wouldn't trade those years for anything, but still have so much life to live. I have good friends, family, and the coolest dog, but, miss the companionship of a guy. I am secure, responsible and without a lot of baggage. I own my house, car, am debt free and have an income and want a guy because I just want one...not because I have to. With that said however, I don't want to have to support a guy either. Some of my old fashioned values probably play into that. I am not looking for rich, rich would be nice of course, but that is not on my list of priorities. Honesty, positive attitude, ability to enjoy life and those in it, knowing how to love and be loved, no fears over giving of yourself, responsible yet knowing how to have fun are all some of the things that attract me. If you date me, my wish is that we both have a great time. I have a big respect for peoples time and feelings. My ultimate goal however, is for a relationship to someday grow into something long term that is loyal, mutual, loving and fun. I am a christian girl but not "religious" and in no means stuffy. I do have a playful side. I like that in a man too. I believe I am a special girl and would love to meet a special guy. I hope that is you. If so, PLEASE FIND ME.
