The whole self description thing I find a bit tedious. To make it more fun and interesting I like taking characters out of pop culture and finding traits they have that I have in common or aspire to. I used to be a big fan of James Bond and Conan the Barbarian when I was younger. Obvious reasons I'm sure - everyone admires sophistication, quick thinking, strength, honor etc. They are deeply flawed but they always strive to be better people (or vampires) today than they were yesterday. And that is something I absolutely DO strive for. They are highly intelligent and resourceful, loyal and protecting to those they love but unforgiving to their enemies (not that forgiveness is necessarily a bad thing). And most importantly, they definitely know how to treat a lady. True Blood is a silly show but I find the Northman character interesting as his maker Godrick is constantly showing up in visions as his conscience trying to guide him on the path toward peace and compassion even though his nature is monstrous by definition. And I love how Don in Mad Men has mastered the philandering nature he had with Betty and stayed faithful to Megan in the face of some strong temptations (at least so far). I wrote this before season ***obviously all bets are off now. ;^)Probably the next most important thing in life after a deep and strong moral character is a good sense of humor.- something I find myself doing. With a partner who is on the same wavelength, there is always laughter about the most idiotic things - Well enough of the TV stuff. Believe it or not I ration myself to only a couple hours a week of the best cable. Life is too short. If you've read this far hopefully you find me at least a little bit interesting? I'll also say I am a big believer in monogamy and am here genuinely looking for true love and romance and not any kind of casual encounters. I love to to give and receive lots of physical affection and am not the least bit shy about public displays within reason. As to what type of person I'd like to attract, the only hard requirement is take excellent care of your health and fitness as I do. The rest is magic, magnetism and chemistry. If you snow ski or board, mountain bike, hike, backpack, scuba dive or do any sort of martial arts, that is a big plus. I'm a believer in sexual equality so a woman who is strong, resourceful, self reliant and owns at least one power tool will definitely have my attention. I don't do well with powderpuff types. And yes ladies the pics are fairly recent (except the 80s hair band one) and I look like them. I know many of you are concerned about that. Actually I probably look better now being a bit more ripped since I've been hitting the weights pretty hard and doing some brutal uphill in the local mountains.I'm a passionate student of anti-aging, life extension and performance enhancement techniques. It would be nice to find somebody who was on that wavelength as well.A NOTE ON THE SUBJECT OF AGE: Like many here I chose to understate my age due to the filtering mechanisms of the site. I know some will find this offensive and assume it indicates a flaw in my integrity. Others won't care. I have had significant relationships with women ranging from 15 years younger than me to 10 years older and the most loving couple I know is 25 years apart. They just celebrated their 30 year and are an inspiration as to what true love can be. My personal opinion is that age is completely irrelevant to love and romance. I would never dream of asking a woman her age or if her stated age on the site was accurate. I think it is worthwhile making first dates a relaxing and comfortable experience. I like restaurants and bars with cushy booths or couches and that are quiet enough for a nice conversation. I don't do first dates unless I am reasonably certain there is a good mutual attraction to start with. Daytime FDs can be OK but I would never in a million years suggest going to Starbucks although I have heard of people doing that. That seems like about the most unromantic thing I can imagine.
