About Me

i always thought meeting new people should be more of an organic thing, but my friends have had some success with this so i thought i would give it a shot. ME: i've travelled extensively and lived overseas. my background is social services and ESL teaching. i'm a bit of a free-spirit, but not flaky. i'm independent, but still flexible. i don't have kids but am open to a guy who does (as long as there's no baby-mama drama.) i'm sarcastic, love to joke, but try not to offend people. i've been told i'm a bit of a hippie, but i shower, shave and don't smoke pot (sorry hippies, i love u!) i don't really care about i-phones and blackberrys,(but if you do that's ok) and i still use paper to write my appts. down. last few random points: i can build a campfire in the rain, i love to polka, i always have a project on the go, and i'm not always up-to-date on the latest fashions. YOU: an all around good guy. religious views: must believe in something, even mother nature - be passionate about something!...tell me the rest. US: i've never wished for the white-picket fence or perfect marriage with 2.5 kids (can you have ***of a kid?). just a down-to-earth guy where there's a mutual attraction and we ACTUALLY like hanging out together. we work through the bad times, celebrate the good times and accept the sags, wrinkles, baldness, slight weight gain, and life experiences that come with being 40. hallelujah! if that doesn't get me a date, nothing will! lol...PS. please don't *** you have NO pics or your pics include you being shirtless in the bathroom mirror or your dating range is ***...anyways, we'll see what happens, good luck on here! talk on the phone, hmmm...talk on the phone again and maybe go for wings/beer at the yard?

Hi there! thanks for taking the time to read this mindless dribble... If you make it to the end and still want to shoot the sh*t, hurrah you win a prize! Here's the deal with me:* I'm a smart ass. * I live for 2 things, my kids and laughing. I guarantee many of you might disagree, but I am.. and personally I think it works for me. I don't however (POF... bad) think I should have to list myself as 'BBW' on here - is there not a less stupid way to refer to me? anyway, yes.. pizza. beer. love them.I think I'm smarter than most people but I usually act like an idiot - that on it's own may mean I am not as smart as I think I am. I am very good at coming up with solutions for other people to implement but can hardly apply that to my own life. Basically, I should probably be a consultant or life coach. No, really. I don't take myself too seriously and I kind of think short people are inferior to tall people. I like wearing heels and being able to see over the tops of people's heads. I work A LOT and don't have much free time. I'm completely self sufficient but I like when other people do things for me. Like take out the trash (#1 reason I miss my husband!), open doors, grab that thing I need, let me have the remote control, you know.. that sort of stuff. I spend a lot of money on lip gloss and I have a cat that hates me. Actually the cat - he doesn't really hate me, but we are trying to work through some issues.. it's a process. Here's what my friends, family, and 'lovers' have said about me... (hold on, just enjoy the fact that I used the word 'lover'... ok, carry on):* I am hysterical (both funny and crazy)* I am smart (and a smart ass)* I am guarded, but giving* I am 'such a girl' (but HATE admitting that)* I am a workaholic (and probably an alcoholic)I am also in the middle of a very friendly divorce from my BFF, father of my kids, and overall good guy... it doesn't really complicate anything on my end.I work a lot, I have my kids on the weekends, and they are always my priority - ALWAYS!!Oh, one more thing - I really do have a thing for younger guys... (ok, I am) Part of me wants to fill this out and see if it really happens... But I won't make it difficult for you... let me give you some possibilities and you can do whatever you like with it!#1. Go get a beer and chat about what you did that day - I actually do like to sit and listen to people talk (I am probably judging them at the same time, but that's what the beer is for - to help you deal with that!)#2. Go see a movie. Um, this would be for the people who are uncomfortable with talking.. but I like movies and if you buy me popcorn, I will sit through just about any movie. **However, I prefer Scary, Funny, or just plain Freaky ones**#3. Please don't take me out to dinner - that's like too much time sitting there looking at each other... it's awkward. Maybe like date number 3.. #4. Go to a book store and wander the shelves of books - I think the discussion therein could help us really get to know each other... I have never done this, but honestly.. it's kind of a bad ass idea.#5. Take me on a trip... somewhere tropical. Oh yes.. I would do it... I have a passport and we shouldn't be afraid to use it... (ok, I probably wouldn't go on a trip on date #1, but this fits into that category of 'people doing things for me that I am capable of doing myself')I don't know.. what else do people do on first dates? It seems like it's all about getting the first date over so the second date can start. Right?
