About Me

I am a woman who feels that family is very important. Mine means the world to me! I don't know what or where I would be without them. I had a very traditional upbringing, with my nuclear family still intact. As for my own family, not so lucky. I was married for 20 years, now divorced and a single mother of six beautiful children, ranging from 14 to 25. I couldn't be more proud of them. I enjoy cooking, baking, cleaning, and doing yard work. I wouldn't call them hobbies, since they are required as a mom, but I enjoy doing them anyway. I like to play ping pong and take long walks. Fall is my favorite season. I enjoy most kinds of music, but mostly listen to top 40, oldies stations or country. I have never been one to have big dreams or goals in my life. The two things I wanted most I have done: to be married with a large family and to have my elderly grandmother and children see me receive my college degree, which I accomplished at the age of 36. I am a very traditional (you may say old-fashioned) kind of girl, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I have had many trials and obstacles in my life, as have so many people, but I have tried to turn them into lessons and have used them as stepping stones to get me to the place I am today. I am proud of the woman that I have turned out to be and I have my wonderful parents and christian upbringing to thank for that. I think a first date should be kept simple. I would say meeting somewhere quiet for maybe a coffee,ice cream or dinner, so that we can talk and get to know one another.

    I like to fish. Not great at it, but like it none the less. I find it relaxing. (except when when nothings biting!) I went deer hunting for the first time last year. Would like to do that again.I draw and paint. Mostly wildlife, old buildings, and nature. I write poetry. Have a couple published. Am pretty creative, I guess. Might even do a little dancing.My "someday "Looking for someone who enjoys living the simple life, (you can have nice things without being materialistic) but who's not "simple minded." He has to be able to open up, but also be a good listener, because it works both ways. (communication is key in any relationship) I'd like him to be responsible, but not overly serious, He's gotta be comedic, as most days I could use a good laugh! He doesn't have to be a church goer, but he needs to at least believe in God. Do you think I can get all that in one package?
