I am truly a happy person and I would love to meet a special man with whom to share my joy. I love to see live music (especially at outdoor venues), venture out to new places, take in festivals of any kind, stay in with friends by the pool or chiminea, travel to the lake, kayak, dance to country, blues, or just about anything. I work out regularly at a gym, sing in a choir, create unique, healthy and delicious meals and sample wine given any opportunity. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and even fishing. Quiet time by the lake or campfire is pure joy. Beaches are my preference. (Not much of a cold weather gal, but I have been known to read by the fire and work out in the gym to hang with the snow bunnies.) I'm a dog (not a cat) person (sorry I'm allergic). I like to travel but admittedly most of my travels have remained domestic. Hoping to expand those horizons.My friendships are extremely important to me and I am committed to maintaining them.I'm a hard worker and have a career that I thoroughly enjoy and in which I take pride. I like to believe that I make a difference in the world. My free time, however, is the most important time to me. I am an extrovert and people person and love engaging in conversation. I believe that communication is essential to any relationship.I am a strong person, probably a factor of many life challenges. I believe in doing the right thing. I am outspoken and direct.I do not debate politics, but if you can't tolerate a liberal mindset, we will not be a good match.I am looking for a true partner in a man, someone I know will have my back and I his. I have learned to open my heart and am excited about the prospect of someone truly touching it again. Mutual respect and support seem hard to come by at this stage of life and I wonder why that is. Wow! Time to update the profile! I have now been in SA for a year and at least can navigate in the north part of town! Quite an accomplishment for this directionally challenged chick!!!I am high energy, driven and a definite type A. I have slowed down some. Age???I am educated and have a professional career. I travel often for work. I love to fly airplanes though I wimped out on my pilots license. I do like having a plan "b". I like riding motorcycles but have short legs so prefer to ride not drive!! I enjoy horseback riding but too hot now for that!I enjoy company and good friends! I am at peace alone and with those I am comfortable with. I love animals, especially dogs and horses! I wanted to be a veterinarian but organic chemistry was more than I wanted to tackle.By the way, I love to laugh, smile and make others do the same. I am being upfront about it because there are a lot of shallow men out there who can not deal with this....including my ex... and I don't want to waste my time!! I am almost 7 years post diagnosis. 7 years on Halloween. Talk about a trick!! lol I am a survivor and I can take all the BS that most have to dole out.
