I'm very easy going, funny and you'll find enjoyable to be around. I enjoy outdoor activities, animals and just appreciating life. I've been lucky enough to travel a lot seeing many places. Part of what makes me happy where I'm at in life. Now being close to home is appealing. Animals and caring for them is a passion of mine. Overall I have a very basic outlook on life and it does not take too much to keep me happy. Good people with a positive attitude and witty humor I enjoy the most. Missing is that one to enjoy quality time together. On a first date to keep I would like to keep it casual and see if we really click or not. I feel within a short time if there is a connection we will know. From a cup of tea, meeting for a happy hour or some outdoor activity works for me.

Hey there! Like a lot of people, this small box can be a very challenging thing to complete. In lieu of trying to completely describe myself, I'll just try to hit on a few key points. To put it briefly I'm a funny, compassionate, and creative guy looking for someone to spend time with. I try not to take life or myself too seriously, so I'm looking for someone with that same kind of outlook - life is too short to be consumed with bitterness or be all stern and whatnot. If you can make me laugh, you've got a pretty good head start. My family and friends are very important to me, and I spend time with them when I can. It's getting to the point though where most of my friends have "partnered up" and I do get tired of being the third (or fifth) wheel - which is one of the main reasons I'm trying this out.I've noticed on more than a few profiles that a lot of girls have specified they are not interested in a "hook up" or whatever the kids are calling it these days :-P Rest assured, that is not my intention and I am seriously looking for someone to spend time with and to hopefully see if it can become more than friendship in time. I am realistic about life and realize that at this point many of the women my age may already have children. That is fine with me - while I have none of my own, I have two nephews and a Godson and enjoy spending time with them.If you're still here - drop me a note sometime if you have any other questions about me. I'm a pretty laid back guy, and like to be able to talk and get to know someone - so I prefer a coffee shop or quiet restaurant rather than movies or bars early on . . .

Dating is tough, however, I'm up for the challenge!Knowing what my competition is like out there I now don't consider myself your "average" guy. "Average," would mean the kind of guy who doesn't desire a long-term relationship, which I definitely do. I have heard about the dating nightmares from some of my correspondence here on meetville. Wow! I sympathize with what women have to go through! And trust me, most guys wouldn't recognize a good woman if they were standing right there in front of them - but I want to assure you, I can. Personally, I think I have the whole package to offer and that's why I'm willing to wait for that someone special. I love my family, I have great friends (most of them are married), and I have a great job. (I love my job!) I'm just missing that one piece in my life...My personal interests include, but are not limited to, traveling, heading to the shore, wine tasting, cooking, watching movies, hiking, camping, playing softball, and skiing. I think this question would be more appropriate if it asked, "Describe what you would do on a SECOND date." First dates are best kept simple, like meeting up for a drink - be it coffee, tea, beer or an adult drink, and as long as the atmosphere isn't too quiet and has a bit of an ambiance. Second date...is a different story. I'll surprise you. :)
