I also think it should be kept simple. A meeting for coffee and a long chat somewhere convenient...or getting together at a public park for a walk and talk, with some time sitting on a bench people-watching...or even going to a local pub in the evening for a drink and appetizer so we can have a chat with each other. Wherever we decide, the focus would be on talking to each other to learn if there's enough there to have a second date.
