Just to save everyone time: I almost never answer messages that say 'hi how are you?' or a variation thereof.I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, but I do my best to enjoy what I do in the meantime. Maybe working for a major soul-sucking American company isn't exactly the highlight, but what I do when I'm not working isn't so bad. I like to play guitar, the autoharp, and sometimes even do it in front of people (open mics, don't start thinking of me as some rockstar!). Sometimes I write, sometimes I take university courses (last year, German, this year, Astrophysics).I'd like to meet someone challenging - with a variety of interests, some like mine, some not. I love to expand my horizons and suddenly doing different things I never expected I'd do. I think everything good that has come out of my life has come from something I never planned.My sense of humour has been described as "cutting". Thin skinned should beware, I tend to be fairly direct. I'm also pretty strong in many of my beliefs about social issues and equality (or lack thereof) throughout the world. I'm very into politics.The little grocery list above this text box tells me that if I want to be successful on meetville (and sure, why not), I need to describe my taste in music. Obscure, maybe? People never recognize the bands I really love, nor the music I play. I love folk music, singer/songwriter and blues, but there really isn't a genre of music for which I cannot think of a band or at least a song that I really enjoy. I am a nurse and love my job. I am professional but I am more than that too. Honest, jokster, loyal, compassionate and the majority of the time a very positive person! I am also a very competent and independent person but that doesn't mean I don't long for companionship. I have 2 young boys ***and 5) who I cherish and adore. I can sing and love to do so. Just rejoined a band and am LOVING it. Trust is very important to me bc I am NOT going to worry frequently about the person Im with and furthermore I shouldnt have to! Life is too short, balance is key! Be who you are but be honest!!! I am a VERY honest person and I expect the same from everyone in my life. I am back into being the active person I was before I left who I was to try to make my marriage work. I go to the gym 3x a wk now and I run (not too far but still... lol). My eldest son plays soccer and I love softball and volleyball. We LOVE to camp! Love to swim. I'm not a bar fly but am having fun going out again with friends for a good time. Love music so concerts are a plus. Would love to find someone who takes care of himself but isnt a health freak (meaning you like to be healthy but can still eat "crap" occasionally & don't continually judge others eating habits). Someone who is honest and considerate & will tell it like it is. Honesty up front can be hurtful sometimes but at least no one is living a lie. That tends to end up worse in the end anyways. Someone who likes to do things and not just sit around all the time. Downtime is nice but not all the time. Looking for that someone who will be my best friend and the person I can't wait to be with. That someone who you just know gets you even if you don't agree on everything. Someone who will treat me with respect and will be respectful of my boys (they have a dad who is good to them they only need a good friend who will be a good influence in their lives and show them how a good relationship can be). Good communication skills is always a good thing as well. Start out as friends and see if it goes anywhere from there.
