Time for a change! The last 27 winters I've lived in an old log cabin in the mountains. I love my Subaru, paddle a solo canoe, like to fish (or at least meditate by the stream or river), go on walks in the woods or down city streets, attend concerts or live theater, and write poetry. Love to read books and write letters (snailmail) by a bone and soul warming wood fire, and dancing is my passion. I retired in ***after working for the Federal Government for over 25 years. I really missed nursing so in August of 200I I took on a part-time job caring for the elderly. I'm looking for a friend and lover to share life with and for a new zip code to call home. But, in all honesty, after living independently for so long, I'm not sure I know how to be a partner (autonomy vs intimacy). I guess with the right man I could always learn, Are you up for the challenge?Looking for a man who shares similar interests and has some of his own. Someone who is genuine and dares to be himself. Want a well-rounded Renaissance man who feels comfortable in jeans or dressed up. What we do in our time together or apart is not as important as how we relate to each other. There is the "you", the "me", and finally, the "we". Each of these must be nourished for a lasting relationship. Change is inevitable, it allows for growth. Want to work and play side by side with someone who truly sees me for who I am, no more/no less, and likes that person. I want to learn who you are and support you, cheer you on, hold you up, help you make your dreams a reality. Hopefully, he will do the same for me. Time is short. The past is gone. Tomorrow will come with or without us.. If you are an individual who can live in the present moment, that is, who is aware of the sound of the wind in the trees, of the feel of the sun on your skin, of the different smell of rain on pavement compared with rain on grass, of hunger in your stomach and in your heart, of another person's sadness or gladness, of a presence bigger than ourselves; a person who is fully alive and wants to share this spiritual high and other experiences with someone as passionate and as sensitive, "Hello my friend...", let's begin our journey.

To clear things up I no longer use psychedelic drugs.That was a lifetime ago! But those days sure were fun! Jerry hit the nail on the head with that quote. That is me for sure. I like to stay busy ...not a huge TV watcher. I prefer to be outside whenever possible. I have cut back my hours at work for the summer so that I can get some hiking and camping in.Also been doing a lot of gardening around my home ...tons of veggies, herbs and flowers.Love a good bonfire with friends and family. I can dress up or be super casual. Depends on where we are going or what we are doing.I am very involved in community projects and volunteering. I managed a farmers market for a couple years but gave it up ( too much work, too little dough) . I still help run a kids program at local market...I teach kids where food comes from and how to eat healthier. I eat pretty healthy and would like to be around someone with the similar habits as me. Now let me be clear, I love a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie now and then! LOL I absolutely love to cook! I could spend all day in the Dekalb or Buford Highway Farmers Markets...so much cool stuff there ! Really enjoy going to out of the way places and meeting the locals, especially on a bike. Always some good stories and local lore to be heard. I am a morning person and always keep a smile on my face. I migrated South 24 years ago from CT...not into the cold winters anymore :(I am kind of independent and tend to get right to the point when talking about things.(that's the New Englander in me) Not a keep up with the Jones's kind of gal.
