About Me
I grew up in CA and came out to Texas for grad school. I am a life-long learner, a believer of all-around fitness, mobility, and function, and a romantic at heart. I like imagining I could beat Michael Buble at a singing contest (I can't, but I can dream, right?), and pretending I'm all stoic and manly when I see a puppy when in reality I just want to cuddle with it and rub my nose in its face... ahem... I mean... uhhh... BEERS and TRUCKS!I'm currently a doctoral student in Counseling Psych, with an emphasis in Sport and Performance Psych. I learn, teach, provide therapy, consult for athletes/teams, and do research. I wear a lot of hats. The first thing people usually notice about me is... actually... people don't notice me. I'm a ninja... and I'm very good at it...*poof*I'm really good at channeling my inner Whitney Houston during karaoke, dancing like a sugar-injected 5-year-old on the Dumbo ride at Disneyland, whipping up a mean Spam and Eggs dish, and putting the toilet seat down.I spend a lot of time thinking if eye brows are considered facial hair? Why the word "abbreviation" is so darn long? Definitely questions, we need our world's greatest scientists to begin researching immediately... STAT!I'm looking for someone with a kind heart who makes all my friends turn to me and say "Nice" with two thumbs up after they meet you, and the reason why they do this is not because of your physical attractiveness but because you are graciously sweet, kind, and caring. You are the type of person that brightens up the room! You value family. You are educated, open-minded, culturally- and socially-conscious, and motivated toward a career and purpose in life (brownie points if you want to go into a helping profession). Last, you should enjoy eating pickles and mushrooms so that you can have all of mine because I do not fancy them at all ;) (UPDATE ***: I'm starting to like mushrooms now! No progress on pickles unfortunately; UPDATE ***: Mushrooms... where have you been all my life!)I would do something low-key where we could talk and get to know each other. Usually coffee dates or getting ice cream are good starters, but I think lunch, mini-golf, bowling, or taking a nice walk are other good ideas as well. If at all possible, I try to go to places that are aesthetically pleasing to look at and be around, whether it be through architecture or nature. If things go well, the second date is where you get your lobster dinner! ;)
