I am an easy going, creative and practical sort of lass and don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'm very into design/making, art and music of which I have an eclectic/alternative taste and I love to spend time with my friends (new ones always welcome though!). My baggage come in the form of ME, a recent development which can be debilitating, but if I rest lots I can play lots too and it won't be forever! I'm not a particularly girlie girl, day to day I'm probably a bit scruffy but I scrub up ok too. I'm happiest pottering round the garden with my cat and chickens and dream of having more animals one day. People say you are either a cat or a dog person but that is not true for me, i only don't have a dog because of work. I hope to be very accepting of different lifestyles and I will always stand up for what I believe in (usually quietly, not on a soap box). I work for myself and as a mentor in a university so I don' t have heaps of time but like to make the most of my down time and very long summers!! I don't really have a nine to five life and love to travel when funds allow!Apart from the obvious stuff- genuine, honest and sensitive, which is all important of course, I'd really like to meet someone who likes growing and making stuff, is open to a bit of culture, someone who is open minded but above all of that, has a great sense of humour! Family and friends are the most important things in my life and enjoying the simple things in life. My bucket list includes but not limited to Australia, Southern France, South America and more cruising.

    Update: Since my divorce in ***, I seem to have found a few extra pounds that just seem to have latched onto my body and seem to have liked what they found and stuck around. I am needing to get out, get some workouts in, and do some dancing, walking, SOMETHING! I have become quite the home body since my move from Kansas City, MO, where I lived for 17 years. Since my divorce, it was time to come back home where I belong here in Nebraska where I was born and raised. Like they say, "There is no place like home!" I enjoy dining out once in a while and a movie. Call me old fashioned! I have three sons and six grandchildren, with twin granddaughters due in February ***, that are the loves of my life right now! I have two mini Dachsunds that keep me laughing with their antics! I enjoy cooking when I have friends over as I don't seem to like cooking for one! I am interested in a man who likes conversation. I am a one man woman. Always have been, always will be. I like vacations, camping, fishing, getting away for a spontaneous weekend once in a while. Watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers on cold Saturday afternoons, and KC Chiiefs on Sundays. One of my favorite past times I have not had the pleasure to do in a very long time, is go for a nice long horseback ride!
