About Me

I am 44 y/o and divorced. I have a young son who lives with me the majority of the time and makes me laugh out loud every day. I am interested in meeting people with whom I can share good times, have fun, and just enjoy being around. Open to seeing what more, if anything, can come from that. At worst, I have more friends in my life. At best, may could find a special friend for life. What happens, happens.I am easy-going, try to find the amusing in everything, and most of the time like to keep things light-hearted. I am REALLY shy when I first meet someone, but I get over it. I am known for my sarcastic sense of humor, and get along best with people who can handle that and give it right back. I have a job that I love (I am a high school teacher, which probably explains the sarcasm) working with teens whom also make me laugh out loud every day (or at least 5 days a week :***It also enables me to spend time with my son, who is my pride and joy. I enjoy casual drinks/dinner with friends, playing pool (not great, just enjoy it), movie nights with friends or partner, and I have always loved going to sporting events even though I rarely understood the game. I just enjoy the atmosphere. I love sightseeing and Sunday drives around new areas. I am always open to new experiences, road trips, and traveling near and far. I have been to Europe a couple of times and Mexico pretty frequently. I speak Spanish as a second language.My favorite music is classic rock, but I have everything from celtic music to Johnny Cash to Nelly on my iPod. I also listen to country a lot, 80's hair bands (I know), and I love female rock/pop artists with attitude.I love to read. I love spy and military fiction, historical fiction/nonfiction, historical romance (brain candy) and supernatural novels (again, I know). Can you tell that I am also a history buff?I love Mexican food, Italian, and seafood, in that order. I am known for regularly eating food so hot that it makes others want to stick their open mouth in the ice bin.I am the person in my circle of friends that you don't dare to do something, because I very well may do it. Kinda takes the fun out of it for them. :) And just to get it out of the way now--what about me is likely to irritate you?People tell me that I should drive in Nascar. That isn't always a good thing for the person sitting in the passenger seat. :) I am a ranter. I rant. With humor. Its cathartic; I can get things out of my system before they really foul things up. I am quite intelligent, but I am unobservant. Ridiculously unobservant.I want to laugh and find humor even when you may not. You may have to tell me to turn it off. I may not listen. :)Meeting somewhere open to have coffee or a drink or take a walk. Maybe people-watch (another fave). Movies and events like that don't give you the opportunity to talk and get to know each other.
