About Me

I'm just a simple "girl next door" type who is looking for love and someone to share my life with. I am well established in my career and although social work isn't exactly a "money maker," I love what I do and I make enough to have my own place, my own car, and pay my own bills. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, listening to music, concerts, movies/TV, etc. I am more laid back in my free time and love to just lay low because my work is always so crazy and chaotic, but I still enjoy going out and having fun. More recently I have started focusing a lot more on my health...trying to eat right and make it to the gym at least 3 times a week...so of course having someone by my side to support me on this journey would be a plus! While I tend to find the whole "dating scene" awkward and uncomfortable, I'm trying to put myself out there a bit more. I've always wanted to fall in love with someone who is also my best friend, because I look for the same qualities in both. Someone who can make me laugh until I cry is preferred, because laughing is my favorite! I want someone who I can talk to for hours but have it feel like minutes because we never run out of things to say. Someone who can accept my good and my bad while still helping me to better myself. I need a guy who can make me feel special, but still have a life of his own and respect that I have one too. I am not the clingy type and am totally cool if you need a night with the guys, because I equally enjoy my time with the girls or even just a night alone relaxing. I'm not impressed by flashy cars, expensive restaurants, or loads of money. I tend to judge a person more based on their character than what they can afford. At the same time, I'm looking for someone who at least has a good/stable job and can support himself. Overall, I'm looking for someone to spend my time with and eventually settle down. You should message me if:-You think you're looking for the same things I described above and think we might click...-You can make me laugh....-You're willing to take things slow and actually get to know me...-You're looking for a relationship and not a hook-up (I don't do hook ups, so please don't waste my time, and I won't waste yours)...-You say what you mean, and mean what you say...Please be able to back up your words with actions, otherwise your words mean nothing...-You're the one guy who can prove to me that you're not all the same...Hmmm...first dates are usually awkward enough as it is, so I like to keep it real simple and casual. I think meeting up for coffee or drinks usually makes a good first date, especially when you're just getting to know someone, because it gives you plenty of time to just sit there and talk!

I am divorced and have 2 grown up children who have flown the nest, also have 2 grandchildren. I have been on my own for long enough now and feel it's time I moved on.I am an open, honest, caring, warm young hearted person with a GSOH, if something bothers me I like to talk it out and vice versa. I am impulsive and do not plan too far ahead, life is for living to the full, so I try not to miss out on opportunities, but I don't do mind games or one night stands. I take pride in my appearance, either dressed up or in jeans to suit the occasion. I lead a busy life, as I am sure you do. My family and friends mean a lot to me. Looking for friendship initially, with the same values as mine, and some chemistry between us, as it would be good to be with someone again as I do miss having a special man in my life. I expect a ***, give and take relationship to share our lives but not be in each other’s pockets all the time, therefore someone who will trust me as much as I will trust them. Sorry not into tattoos, piercings or smokers or someone still in a relationship. Oh and a photo would be appreciated!! Don’t expect much really do I !!! So, at the end of the day, the chemistry is the most important thing. Don't have time for endless messaging, would rather meet and see if we get on and go from there.Hope to hear from you soon.JeannieFirst date, meet in a pub or cafe for a drink and a chat.

I enjoy writing, recording and performing songs and have recently begun to play keyboard - don't do brilliantly but I can bash out a tune while my mates play guitar really well! I enjoy cooking, especially baking, LOVE reading - the Kindle has to be one of this century's greatest inventions, you never have to run short of something to read! I live in a lovely flat with Charlie and Lola, two moggies who just about tolerate one another. I have just acquired a jack Russell pup called Digby, so the cats have something else to quarrel about. I have three grandchildren. they are of course wonderful and I'm rediscovering one of the greatest joys of my own parenting days, reading to them at bedtime. Love to laugh, enjoy wine and beer and the occasional mojito. I enjoy drives in the country, train rides and would love to travel more as I've not been to enough places yet. I don't drive a car as I have a visual impairment caused by a rare bone condition I was born with - if you're interested it's called osteopetrosis and there are only 1 in 500,***of us in the UK. Because of this I have enough titanium inside me to make a great racing bike as I've been pinned back together a number of times following fractures. That means I won't be joining you in a sky diving, bungee-jumping or ice-skating capacity. I set up Shoot Your Mouth Off, a disability Film Company, in ***, and am still Director. I love my job and frequently feel privileged to get paid for larking around with nice people all day!I'm open to suggestions - a lot of people seem to meet for a first date in a pub overlooking the harbour where I live, so that might be an idea. See what suggests itself when we start chatting!
