PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ MY PROFILE WORDS. PICTURES CANNOT GIVE YOU THE 'WHOLE' ESSENCE OF WHO I AM. I KNOW IT'S LENGTHY, BUT WORTH THE READ AND I DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME OR MINE. I'M VERY UP FRONT AND HONEST. SO, ANY QUESTIONS, JUST ASK.I'm the 'girl-next-door' type, with an adventurous nature. However, if I had to describe myself with one word...I'd have to say 'Eclectic'. Because I definitely think outside the box and am an 'acquired' taste. lol I've done quite a few interesting things in my life and don't regret any of them. There's a quote I found which says pretty much how I feel about life. "Life is not a journey with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming "Wow! What a ride!" So, yes, I do have a few 'character' lines at my age, and I earned every one of them! lolUpdate: What am I looking for? Affection, warmth, holding hands, hugs, kisses, intellectual conversations, passion, have adventures, compatibility. I don't want to be married, but I do want a love/partner to grow older with. It's so much more fun with someone! lol I used to work for the County Government...8yrs as a police dispatcher, and 20 yrs as the Manager of the Admin Dept at a crisis center. I've retired from work, but not from Life! I want to go, do, see things, but still have some 'quiet' times with AND without my partner. Also, I can compromise on a lot of things, but not on compatibility. I need to feel a sense of ease/be comfortable with my 'date'. That is foremost. Unfortunately, you can't 'feel' that by looking at someone's picture or reading their 'words'. So, I like to meet in person sooner, rather than later. Only then will you know if that 'feeling' is there...by knowing that you are relaxed, feel your 'walls' coming down, and just enjoy talking and being with that person. However, sometimes, it takes more than once, to know the 'inside' of someone, to know if there is any 'physical chemistry' there as well. The first is more important to me. If that's there, then the 2nd will hopefully come, if its meant to be. Too many times, people meet for the first time and may not feel the 'sparks' they were anticipating. So they immediately 'write off' that person. Sometimes you have to see them again to really know for sure. Isn't it worth the 'extra look' ?? I am looking for a boyfriend/partner/lover for a long term, monogamous relationship. I'm a one-man woman and want a one-woman man. I do my best to maintain a healthy diet and stay active, but I'm a constant 'work in progress', lol No one is perfect and I don't look for that. We all have 'little things' we'd like to 'fix', but as long as we do our best to try to say healthy & active, that's all that really counts. I would like my partner to feel the same way. I joined a gym and work out at least 3 times a wk. NOT that i will stop going, but I am hoping that by the end of ***, I will be in even better shape, feeling good about myself, and totally awesome! LOL If I say I will accomplish a 'goal' (& this is one of them!) I WILL!! :) ****So, plz don't 'write me off' just because I may happen to have 10 or 15 lbs to lose, because it will be gone soon, and... I am just SOOOO Awesome inside and out, with or without them! LOLAlso, I saw this following quote on a gentleman's profile and so agreed with it that I wanted to share it. "Here's how I see it: our youthful physique is on the wane (hell, for must of us, it's already waned) and the elements of beauty have ceased to be based on physical qualities. During this Winter of our lives and as we seek our last love, shouldn't we base our search upon less superficial qualities?" ...Well said, don't you think? I have a passion for life and am a positive person who loves to smile and laugh (especially at myself). I'm trustworthy, spontaneous, unpredictable, attractive, intelligent & clever, love freedom, too sensitive & easily hurt, romantic on the inside(would you dance w/me in the rain? Kiss me during a tropical storm?lol), love reality and abstract, a bit rebellious when restricted, and a genuine happy spirit. Because I was a single parent and then the manager of a dept in a crisis center, I am used to being 'in charge/control' of things. Some men would feel threatened by that. Let me say right here, that I would LOVE to share that responsibility now!! I HAD to be that way because of the road my life went. If you are a strong, independent, confident man who is also kind and patient, then you can help me to sit back more now and let someone (you?) share that attribute with me. Like I said, I think maybe I'm an 'acquired taste'...you have to get used to me! THEN you'll either dislike me or love me! lolI'm 100% committed to those I care about and who care about me.I love my jeans, but 'dress up' nice. I have many 'interests' ...check them out on my profile. Most people think I'm in my 50s, because I think, act, and look younger, but I'll let you be the judge, because sometimes I wonder about that when I look too close in the mirror!! lol It would be nice if you liked good old fashion romancing...like holding hands, snuggling, hugs, long, slow kisses, PDAs. I look at a guy's eyes and smile first. However, would prefer maybe just having a cup of tea/coffee/wine on the beach watching the sun come up or going down.
