About Me

Independantly wealthy (of spirit!), good-humored company looking to share the vast bounty of the suncoast-- I'm still a career gal, but maintain an active, balanced lifestyle outside the office and would love good company with whom to share the ride. I can't say that I'm actively looking to get married; that kind of focused expectation usually only creates regrets at this time of life. I'd rather discover a "true companion" through shared interests and experiences and then be delightfully amazed at where the possibilities might lead! While I don't subscribe to "love at first sight," I am a converted follower of "divine intervention," which preserves my wrye eye on life: expect to be surprised!! Some values I hold dear are honesty, integrity and compassion. I respect kindness on all levels and cherish history with friends, memories, hope and a peaceful heart. A devoted animal lover, I volunteer with my dog, Jazz, in the Hospice Therapy Dog program. (We've also successfully completed Agility Dog training, coming to the inevitable conclusion that Jazz has ultimately more forward gears than I!). The outdoors nurture my soul, especially kayaking Florida's backwaters and bicycling to wherever. I love casual home entertaining, good conversation, playfulness and laughter, dancing, playing bridge, social poker with the neighbors, interactive games of all kinds--especially word games. I tend to be curious by nature, genuine and casual; spur of the moment plans fit easily--and usually turn out to be some of the best times. I love God and country and spent 4 years with the USO, based in Washington, DC, during the Viet Nam era. The "life dance" is full of surprises and I try to speak and live my truth. That's the part that can't be defined by words...everything unravels in its own good time--and, from here, YOU decide if you pick up the beat!! Either way, thanks for reading this far!For starters, I'd welcome something light with a casual venue that's comfortable for us both. In fact, the concept of "first dates" is overrated. I'm easy to talk with--always a springboard to discovery. From there, I have to go back to my trust in "divine intervention."

Hello nice people! Here's me...Bit of a free-spirit, bit of a hippy chick at heart, I love experiencing life with all its wonders, even when it's kinda ugly or hard. Moved to Kent from Scotland, working in S.E. London, and reeeeeeeeeeaaaaally need some local friendly faces to get out and about with - live music, travelling, grub, pub, comedy, walks, big drives, and all the stuff you can fling in the mix..? Self employed and single so nothing much is off limits but not desperately seeking anything other than authentic human connections. Anything else springs from there, eh? Sometimes it's *** an amazing buzz to feel that spark, sometimes takes a little longer but burns all the brighter! I'm a caring, open-hearted person, but not an open book for just anyone. Best to have fun turning the pages! I love relationships gradually unfolding, taking root in their own time, and blossoming into whatever they're gonna be. I feel sometimes pigeonholes and labels miss the point. As long as both people are enjoying the connection, I won't force it, or fake it... just feed it and let it roll. Isn't it lovely when someone sees the best in you... letting you shine..? Favourite things: anything creative, anything authentic. Exploring an open road, open mind and open heart - music (oh yes!***travel (oh yes!***conversation of deep thinkers and funny people - tiny gigs with real musicians - VW campers and tents - listening to rain - solitude and stimulating company - wacky art shows - bookshops and music shops - coastlines and mountaintops - learning - strangers in the background of photos (for some reason..!***wandering, wondering, observing life - making memories - our beautiful planet - living things of all sorts (not Bertie Bassett variety***caring for precious mini human creatures - the road less travelled - spirituality (but not religious***voluntary work projects - flown tiny planes a couple of times soooo amazing - detest celebrity culture and consumer brainwashing - alternative therapies (really want to learn massage or reiki***bubbly bathtime - pushing boundaries and natural highs (can be a little "Dice Man" minx at times***fascinated by alternative states of consciousness but no drugs, no no nooooo. Tragically known for laffin' at my own numptiness in spontaneous outbursts of side-splitting, snot-inducing gigglefests - rarely funny to anyone else and not AT ALL attractive! Eh, no... not cute, a mess! :o) Anyone not nodded off yet..? What??? You're nodding along..??? Wayhey, the coffee/beer is on me! *******************PS: I don't mean to be rude, but I'm not gonna reply if your profile needs the Da Vinci Code to crack the "txt spk" - can't risk overheating my brain cell!Just plant a little seed of friendship, water it with conversation, warmth and laughs. It'll find its own road from there, eh? :o)Saw this elsewhere... "We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly". Isn't that lovely and so true..? x

Woman. 55 years old. Zodiac sign: Leo.

Looking for: man. In age: 45-65

I was a single mom for about 17yrs. I've done a pretty good job of rearing four great kids, three girls and one boy. I have six precious grandkids too. My family is important to me, not only my children but also my Mom and siblings (I have one sis and 3bros.) We are all very close-knit, and they are my life line. (I couldn't have survived without them) My kids are all grown now and I find myself wanting to get out and about, but movies, dinner, concerts are better when you are not alone. I enjoy walks in the outdoors (who doesn't?), browsing flea markets and antique shops. I've been camping on the beach, and I enjoy the mountains as well.I tend my little flower gardens and window boxes. I enjoy a quite afternoon fishing, as long as someone baits the hook for me. I like to listen to most types of music, love outdoor concerts and events. My favorite movies are comedies, the classic ones best . I watch tv or read when I'm at home. I own my home and I'm always doing this and that to it. That just about sums it up...I'm not very adventuresome but I will try new things. ( as long as they're non-high risk). I've never played golf or tennis, rode a horse, or planted a vegetable garden. I'm sure there are other things I've not done, that I'd like to learn. Thanks for getting to know about me...ARE YOU STILL AWAKE?!!On our first date we could meet for coffee and get to know each other a little. Coffee doesn't cost much so if we find we're not a match, then we've not lost much time or money invested. We can sit across from each other, and talk and look into each other eyes( they are the window to the soul, you know) I think that would be nice. I'm always open to suggestions.

Woman. 66 years old. Zodiac sign: Scorpio.

Looking for: man. In age: 56-76

As of June 20th I am retired from teaching full time. I am very liberal, not affiliated with a party but more to the best choice. I do not attend church, I put my time in daily at an Episcopal girls school so logged in enough chapel time to kill a horse and now believe that each has their own beliefs. On June 20th I turned 65, retired, and became a gramma all in one week. Now it's time for me to get out and play and figure out the next phase of my life adventure. I am passionate about fly fishing and the outdoors. I love walking along a river bank, Greenlake, beach, or mountain trail, especially if there's a place to cast my line into, and getting off shore in my kayak is heavenly. I am an early riser and early to retire for quiet decompression time. If the weather forces me inside, a good movie or play , book, puzzles, invent a delicious soup, seeing a good comedy act or going to a cozy pub and smoozing with the locals. There's always a walk in the rain or facing the storm wind in my face, waders on, bundled up. I lm an avid road tripper, seeking trout streams and lakes, beautiful vistas, and little backwood towns, and out of the way places. My Hyundai and I travel most of the summer fly fishing or paddling and visiting family and friends along the way. I am hoping to travel more extensively, learn a new language, paint and draw, and read the piles of books on my shelves. I know retirement will open my life to new adventures and relationships. Of course with a new grand baby I will be spending time with them too. My parents are still here, in their 90s, a blessing for sure. I have a quirky and sometimes twisted sense of humor often laughing at the darker side of life, as well as looking for humor in what life has to dish out, especially the humor in our aging minds and bodies. Better to laugh than to cry, eh? Which brings me to this part of my sales pitch, I've tried dating sights before and have met some really great people but have not clicked with a love interest yet. My life is full with friends and family and many things I want to do, one of which is getting to know someone and be with him easily and comfortably and if meant to be romantically.Someone indicated that my summary indicated that I never sit still. I am an introvert, I seek time to myself to recharge. I like time to myself whether in my kayak, reading a good book, or working on my laptop, cooking, writing, or watching TV. I am not on the go all the time, but enjoy planning adventures, implementing them and returning to the cozy place I call home.First Meeting: Go for a walk and/or coffee, happy hour, somewhere public and easy for both of us to get to and visit. We can take it from there.
