About Me

Hi, I think I am a very optimistic, active person who loves traveling, art, museums, growing plants in my garden and very open to new ideas and experiences. I always try to find the humor in life...believe me it's there even if life throws some tough changes. Each day is a new beginning.A first date wouldn't really matter where, it would be connecting with the one you are with. It's not the breaths we take but the moments that take your breath away.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm a country gal by nature with brains, opinions and plenty of abilities. I’m old fashioned about some things and progressive about others. Born a Libra, I’ve spent my life seeking balance for the diversity of my own personality. I'm a very curious person & my interests are vast and varied from ball room dancing to eco friendly construction, writing, sculpting, costuming & carving to name just a few. I'm an amateur historian, artist & writer. I also train dogs, research historical cooking and play D&D.My friends have described me as part Klingon & part Betazoid (yes, I'm a SiFi buff) and I enjoy creative challenges. I'm spiritual as opposed to religious, I meditate & do yoga & appreciate the quiet spaces in life as well as the high energy ones. I'm open minded & stubborn (hey, red hair!) curious, loyal and honest... to a fault perhaps and my super power is common sense. Don't be fooled by the "few extra pounds", I'm no couch potato! I work hard & I play hard. I'll take a walk in the country over a trip to the city most days. I have a special relationship with water & have been known to travel a long way just to stick my toes into it. I have never looked or acted my age and I'm not going to start now & I really dislike being judged by a number. FYI - I am actually 63 although I don't look or act my age. I hit the wrong year & it refuses to let me change it. I'm an armful & a handful and definitely no wall flower. I've reached that stage in my life where it's time to take better care of me & having 2 knees replaced in the last year has slowed me down a bit but ..I'm working on that. I'm using some of my new spare time to be more healthy & do more things I enjoy. Doing them with a friend would be even more fun.UPDATE:My job was down sized last Oct so I decided to take my retirement early. I went back to school for a Pastry class and relearned that I never want to be a commercial cook! I am however very interested in food sculpture. I'm researching a Fantasy book I "need" to write and I'm working on getting back in shape after my knee surgeries...which was really challenging when your learning to make pastries! I've been a dog person all my life and expect I always will be. If the knees come around I'd like to get back into dancing & historical fencing and someday I will dig out my cross bow and take up target practice again! I love big, tall, outdoorsy men but, the package isn't as important as what's inside. A great smile is the first thing I notice ..and laugh lines. The ability to laugh... at life..silly humans...yourself, is essential. It would be "frosting on the cake" if you appreciate my cooking, like to dance & loved to explore also.. If any of that sounds interesting and you’d like to know more, I look forward to hearing from you. FYI - I am only a basic member. If I put you on my favorites list, it means I'm intrigued by your profile. If you feel the same, start a conversation! The very best of luck to you either way! SarahTalking is a great place to start. As much as I'd like to find "my partner" it has to start with friendship. Even if it goes no further, I can always use good friends.
