I was a globetrotting professional athlete & PhD. researcher w/ insatiable, adventurous curiosity & appreciation of the absurd, until some incapacitating broken bones & destruction/theft of my years of research (for example) kinda of changed my life, priorities, goals, career preferences (for something totally different), etc. After years of living in different countries (e.g.; training, research &;; develop some stable roots, In a perfect world, I'd already have a soul mate to have children & Fitness, health & nutrition have become a pretty big focus of my life (not that they were not). I've been working out at gym ***times a day (diverse group fitness classes, weights, cardio), ***hours almost every day for the past few months since I could really start walking w/o pain, as getting my strength, weight & cardio fitness (i.e. health) back to my pre- Last week I ranked #45 in the national 90-day fitness challenge that began in Aug., which is less impressive than it sounds since it'd be hard to make significant, rapid progress if you're already in excellent condition. Indeed, while it's great to feel & see how much rapid progress & transformation one can achieve with hard work, it's hard to forget that my pre-injury self would've been disgusted to experience what have been my most gratifying milestones in recent months. Compared to the average American, I'm extremely diligent about eating healthy most of the time (love veggies, fruit, fish, green tea, whole foods), though I'll indulge in some fattening treats occasionally. I'm fascinated w/ too may things to mention, and won't bother elaborating until I see if this social networking site is for real...I've had my first veggie garden this summer, which has been a blast & interesting, if somewhat geeky. I grew tired of the bar scene a while ago, knew no one where I moved, and have been so busy that I'm hoping to find online someone cool, fun, interesting & attractive (to me) to hang out with, since just about everything is enjoyable, so long as you're with the right kind of person. I'm pretty sure there's nothing "typical" about me, insofar as there's no common "type" of guy one could classify me as (of course, we'd all like to think we're more unique than we probably are). After all, I went from being surrounded by world-class athletes to world-class academics & scientists, and enjoyed both worlds. I've been friends with people from extremely different milieus, and dated very different types of women. While I don't feel I'm at a place at this very moment to get extremely serious & married quickly, I'm open to whatever feels right, and wouldn't rule out anything even extremely casual, though I don't have the time or desire to attempt serial dating multiple women. Meet for quick ***min. drink in public place, which is enough time to discern whether there's any chance of physical attraction, verify the other person is real & un-shady. This takes off pressure and risk. If both of us desire a 2nd meeting, this can be arranged on the phone.
