About Me

I've had some luck on here.... my longest relationship from meetville was 2 years and I've been in a handful of ***month relationships as well.... I also have made some great friendships and have no complaints.....but I'm back for more.... I'm an elementary school music teacher and being creative and inspiring my students are two very important things in my life. I play piano, guitar, trumpet and I'm learning to play banjo... I feel very lucky to be able to do the work that I do.... I'd like to get a kids singing group together to write original songs for events around the city....I have a soft spot for old children's TV shows/cartoons...The arts and creativity and intelligence and depth and silliness...... are all very important..... I love the word "freedom"....I enjoy getting together with friends to write songs, sing in the backyard, share ideas, go out to eat...I enjoy listening to and playing all types of music including 80's rock/pop, old RnB, jazz, metal, indie rock, folk/old country, electric/acoustic blues, latin/salsa, world music.... and I really like dancing to all kinds of music... to me, the summer isn't totally complete without spending some time at the Calgary Folk Festival, or the Blues Fest, or the Canmore Folk Fest........I read a wide variety of books, mostly non-fiction, especially the psychology of Carl Jung and Buddhist and Hindu philosophy and history..... before I became a teacher I got degree in Religious Studies and would like to go further and perhaps do a Master's in that some day..... I'm currently reading a collection of stories by Kafka and a book on rocks and gems....I love to learn about the world around me... I like going to museums.......I love to laugh and make others do the same...I'm crazy about spontaneous road trips.... with lots of stops along the way.... with no plans or destinations.....I am loving the Spring weather in Calgary this year. I can't wait for the snow to be gone permanently so I can go for long walks by the river as the sun goes down...I like eating all kinds of food, especially Korean (I lived in South Korea for ***years where I taught English.... and got married.... later to be divorced.... long story.....) and South American... mmmm, pupusas!.....I like musicals, opera and live theatre.... In movies, I like everything from documentaries, to wacky comedies, to obscure foreign films with subtitles.... I thought the Life of Pi was great... and Django...I like Kurosawa's samurai movies... I like reading about evolutionary theory....... and I like learning about the crazy/wacky world of quantum physics as well..... and about the origins of the universe.... Science fascinates me.... gawd, I'm such a teacher....If you've read this far, here is some of my writing...--The House--Under the moon and starsAnd the quiet of darknessAnd the stillness of nightAnd the blanket of the world,A house waited inPeace.Four solid wallsProtecting it’s resident,The person insideWho listened to the evening bellAnd opened a windowAnd watched the passers-by,Who survived onThe food in the house,Who read booksAbout the world,Who opened the doorTo let a stranger in,Only to have this visitorCome very closeAnd whisper,“Outside of these wallsLies inexhaustible love”jwh--In Passing--Old selfPast self subsumedBy who I have becomeOld friend vanishedIn time insideMy psyche belowThe surface underThe waves andCovered byLayer upon layerOf livingjwh--The Nightmare--I wrapped my cloak tightly around my body.I crept through the rubbish-strewn streets.I followed the sounds of the howling.I ran through the darkness.I ran from the fear.I ran for my life.I stopped to catch my breath.I stopped for a snack.I sat on the curbI ate a banana.I had some milk and cookies.I read a comic-book.I shuffled hockey-cards in my hands.I played my harmonica....and thenI slowly stood up and continued running.I ran through the dark alleys.I felt I was being followed.I felt the dread.I knew the end was near.jwh--The Mountains--This was my symbol of protection. This was my shield. This was the mystical barrierbetween myselfand the demon energieswhirling around my ankles....The animals spiritshiding in my Shadow. These were the natural forcespressing inagainst my feeble and innocent Self.Suddenly...I awakenedto the realization that I had forgottenthe worst predator of them all...so out of place...so foreign and forboding...her brooding stare...the Hungarian vampiress...and I felt the oozing pressureand weight of her eyes staring at me.Somehow...in some unfathomable turn of events, she had discovered me...here, climbing in the lonely crisp windsat the top of the Great White North.jwh--Archetypes--Through optical windows within a manBehind his eyes live a tribe and clanPeople and patterns dwell within, it seemsNestled in shadows and dancing in dreamsExtending a motion both mythic and mysticExpressing emotion and characteristicIdeal form and specimen nobleArchetypes ancient, elusive, immobileReaching out forward, the future to seeAching to achieve immortalityjwh--Powerful Friend--Wilfully watching words that I say,my powerful friend is moving awayHe's taken to weeping and wanting to shout, but after his keeping I'm booting him outand seizing a chance at changing inside, these rusty old vaults are opening wideCollecting some fragments from fairweather friendsfor fueling the change, for making amends,I'm forming a vision from various sourcesand sewing a patchwork quilt of remorsesand packing this blanket, his stay at an end,I'm sending him off, my powerful friend.jwh ...let's talk

I am the father of two very adorable kids (when they want to be! LOL), but I love them to pieces. I've noticed from alot of ads that there is still the problem with people wanting to date someone, and they say they don't mind kids, then all the sudden the kids are a problem. Well, if you think it might be or is a problem, then time to move on. My kids come first and thats that! Although if you have kids, this to me is not a problem( as long as they will be wealthy some day! LOL) I had to throw an update to my profile since it has been a long time since I was on here. I did meet someone and added yet one more child to my life, however, she and I never worked out. Apparently having previous kids was a problem. This brings me to the question...are we all selfish that we only want and never sacrifice for love, or does anyone believe in love anymore. I know what I want, but the question is do you really know or does reality scare us and cause us to never be satisfied. It seems alot of our generation has been married and divorced at least once by now. Is it fair to our children or do we care. I really want to find that special someone, but I don`t think I can base it on an ad and a picture. If you can answer the questions and honestly want a mixed family, then lets talk. If its all about you and what you want but no thought of anyone else then too bad, I hope you find what you are looking for.I am currently a truck driver doing long-haul all over North America. It has its moments but for the most part is still pretty fun. It does however require me to be gone for periods of time that tends to put a strain on the love life. I'm a simple guy who wants nothing more than to spend time with a female companion who does not mind the trucking life, and two very active little boys. This person HAS to understand that the most important thing in my life right now are my boys and that I have them every weekend and any other time I want. I have a good relationship with their mother which allows this and you would have to be understanding of this (that being said, there will be NO worry of her and I EVER being together again! LOL)I am hoping to one day go back to school again to complete a degree, though not sure what field yet, but I am sure that this will happen. Feel free to send me a message if I sound like someone you would like to get to know, and who knows what will happen. WOW! First date??? Let's just start off with a coffee and see what happens from there.

I am a simple guy. Live a modest lifestyle. My daughter lives with me part time. She lives in provost as well. I enjoy yard work and gardening and I take pride in my yard. I am not big into sports. I have a holiday trailer and my daughter and I enjoy camping. I love thunderstorms and enjoy taking pictures of them and of nature as well. I was raised on a farm not far from provost, and I will always be a farmboy at heart. I have a great senseOf humour and I am a really laid back kind of guy...not too much gets me fired up, some people would peg me as a person that sees the bright side of things..but when it comes to my work, i am hard working and very dedicated to my job..I do love my job, but I have scheduled days off which I enjoy whether hanging out watching movies all day of spending the day doing yard work Supper or coffee, somewhere where it is possible to talk
