I've always had faith. And when I was recently tested with considerable challenges in my professional and personal lives, I made the decision to get involved with a church near where I live. It's a good feeling to know that there are other people like me that are out seeking a positive message. I'm in no way looking to preach to anybody or convert anyone, but I've always been a generous soul, and seeking out people that need help with their problems - well, that just comes naturally, I think.I am NOT a Republican. Recent history suggests that is a dirty word. I am what you might refer to as a Fiscal Conservative. I mentioned earlier that I am a small business owner, so I am greatly concerned with the cost of just about EVERYTHING. My musical tastes are quite varied. I was born in the city but raised in the country - so I've always enjoyed western and country music. There are some pop songs I like currently. I really enjoy some Adult Contemporary music. And some smooth jazz and classic rock also. I've been an XM-Radio subscriber for a year now, and there's so much to choose from: I don't channel surf at home - I do THAT in the car.I think that all the other members on this site should take the time and complete ALL the tests and quizzes before you start messaging people. Taking the time and answering all those questions will only help you to determine the best match with the most compatibility. And maybe that's not me, but maybe that is another user for you. Pick an ideal date that could eventually make a good mate, because you never know what could eventually happen.Since everyone else on this site seems to be leaning towards telling other users what they are NOT looking for, I guess I will do the same:*On tattoos...I am not into the whole body modification movement, if you will. It's not for me. Hopefully if it's for you, you're doing it for you and not for someone else. A few strategically placed tattoos is okay with me...classy, not crassy. But if you look like the illustrated woman, you're going to have to come up with something extra to keep my interest. I have found that most of those words and symbols are permanent reminders of temporary feelings. Must be how I was raised. Respect yourselves, people.*On baggage...I realize that there are times in this life when bad things happen to good people. I get it, believe me. But if the unfortunate circumstances of your past relationships keep your psyche filled with bitter emotions, or self-hate...or you just enjoy playing the role of the victim relationship after failed relationship, then don't fill my inbox up, okay? You don't need to be dating ANYBODY - what you need is professional help and a relationship with God. Again, respect yourselves, people.*On Chemical Dependency...Drugs have no place in my life. I don't do them, and I don't operate in circles that enjoy or celebrate that type of behavior. And I could understand if your idea of self-medication means a sip or two of the hootch a couple times during the given week. But no one should aspire to be a hawt mess. if you're drinking EVERY night because you have no direction, hate your job, or you treat your offspring like obligations and the only way you can deal with their behavior is to make it so you can't feel anything at turn-in time, then you also need to jump out of the pond and get yourself a lifecoach to sort out your hot mess of an existence.*On Body Type...I have found that, as I have grown older, I have begun to see the beauty that lies in curvy females. Thin is not always healthy. Neither is obesity. There IS a happy medium somewhere. If you are built like a toothpick, you might want to mix in a sammich or two. On the other extreme, if you're built like the typical NFL linebacker, you probably need to consider eating a salad every now and again. I'm looking for somewhere in the middle. Real women have curves and are comfortable in their bodies. I'm located centrally in Bay County. I'm looking to meet women and/or date women in the Tri-County area - I'm willing to drive an hour one way to meet somebody, but that would be about my limit. I think the ideal first date should be something brief. Maybe a cup of coffee or an adult beverage and some good conversation. If that goes well...maybe the second date could be immediately following the first, with dinner at a nice restaurant? I think the evening could go as long as two people felt comfortable. Starting with a movie might be bad form, but ending with one might be nice.I'm not against meeting somewhere neutral then heading for bowling, or a live band, or an evening stroll.
