About Me

TL:DRSarcastic, adventurous, red hot hunk of man, seeks compassionate, adventurous, little fireball to eat, drink, travel, explore, and make fun of things that should be taken very seriously. The full story:I’m a creative type. I’m a full-time artist for the video games industry and in my spare time I make all sorts of things. I was a tattooist for many years but I reached my rose/skull/Tasmanian Devil quota and had to retire as per union rules. Now I spend my days in an office leading a team of character artists for the video games industry. Occasionally I actually get to contribute a piece of art myself. Managing artists is like herding cats, but artists aren't as cuddly. It's a great job though, and I truly enjoy what I do. There’s nothing better than getting paid for doing something you love. And contrary to popular belief, making video games does not mean that I sit around and play games all day (although I do have to “research” occasionally). Ultimately, though, I’d like to start my own business making unique functional art. I love to spend my weekends in my garage getting my hands dirty carving wood, or molding epoxy, or melting metal with a torch! I never lost that childhood fascination with fire, now I’m just smart enough to use the proper safety equipment (usually!). I get a lot of satisfaction from making something cool and useful with my own two hands that I could never have found at a store. It’s always great when someone says “wow, that’s awesome, where did you get it”, and I can proudly say that I made it myself. When I’m not in front of my computer or working in the garage, I like to do the "normal" I’m pretty easy to please. As long as I have good company I’m happy just about anywhere. I still dig just taking off into the woods and finding things to play with. One thing that I would love to do, but I haven’t done enough of, is travel. We didn’t have much money when I was growing up so our family rarely ever took vacations. So unfortunately, now that I’m financially capable, I never really think about scheduling a trip. Perhaps I need a really great girl to give me some incentive! But it can’’t be spontaneous, perhaps Japan, sh*t I’ll shut up before I ruin all the good locations. Where do you think we should go?I've got a pretty dry, sarcastic sense of humor, but not in a pissy British way ;) (sorry British people). I try to enjoy life no matter what I'm doing. I have to admit that I take a little bit of pleasure in pushing people just slightly beyond their comfort zone. But I take as well as I give. I can and will make jokes about anything/everything. If you're easily offended you probably want to look elsewhere. I figure if something sucks it can only get better if you can laugh at it and if something is awesome it can only get better if you can laugh at it.I’m honest and loyal; I don’t cheat… EVER… and never… once I've given my word I keep it... no matter what. That goes for everyone, not just the person I'm dating.*.. Nobody values their "word" anymore.-Mark

I believe you have to take risks in life. I was kicked out of the Cub Scouts for teaching the other kids how to play poker and sometimes I don't pre-heat my oven. I love math, *** (never made an account), eat too few vegetables, and believe bbq IS the 4th food group (you got it all wrong FDA and I'm calling you out). After publishing a book and over 20 articles I've learned that it's not the good writer who gets published....it's the persistent one. I try to expand my vocabulary every day. I tend to date women under 5'2" or over 5'9". I guess I'm a man of extremes. I will probably tell you no more often than you like. I also have 'dog ears' and will be able to hear you thinking about shopping. I'm looking for someone who owns a cookbook, who can put up with my crazy habits, is relatively neat, who speaks Spanish worse than I do (male ego), has less than 7 tattoos, loves eating meat (don't worry, I'll hunt it and kill it if you cook it), and likes dressing up.1 Bonus point if you:-are a good kisser-think mexican music sounds like carnival music-use less than half of the features on your cell phone-have at least one phobia you'll admit to (the crazier the better)-will sing in front of me-like to wear skirts/heels-have smoked a cigar in the last year-know at least one secret family recipe-prefer dark beer-hate scary movies or spook easily (I love them and believe opposites attract)-still celebrate Halloween-are willing to taste anything I put in front of youI'm a consultant in the area of predicting human behavior, but I spend a lot of my free time mentoring college students. I am not a teacher, that pic is from one of several speeches I often give at colleges. I also publish articles, read text books, and solve puzzles to relax. Most people consider me unusually focused with a high degree of intellectual curiosity. Dive bar so we can make fun of the locals and drink Bell's out of wine glasses just to class the place up a little.
