I am 41 years old (sorry, unfortunately I can't change without creating new profile).A little apprehensive about showing too much here as I think that getting to know someone should be a little more natural/organic. That's part of the fun of meeting someone new and getting to know them. Maybe I am just old school but it seems that people don't go out to meet people anymore.Anyway, I am easy going, very nice, respectful. I try to live by the Golden Rule and that takes me pretty far in life. I'm kind of a contradiction in that my job is stereotypically nerdy, but I am not. I like to check out good local shows/bands.I like to go snowboarding a bunch, play hockey & run with my dog. I really like to get away for the weekend & The first date for me would be something casual and mellow and would depend on how much we talk beforehand. I would really like to get to know someone and talk to them. I don't think I would plan a big date, those would come later.

I'm recently divorced after a 12 year relationship with my ex-wife. My 8yr old daughter is the center of my attention. I' ve never thought about online dating before but I don't have the time or the desire to hang in the clubs and bars so here I am. I have to admit that I am a little shy and awkward at first; not to mention that I am pretty rusty at the whole " dating game" . But I usually warm up to folks pretty fast.
