About Me

Let's see, I'm supposed to talk about myself. I'm not going to be one of those that says I hate doing that. Mainly because "me" is the only subject that I can speak on with absolute certainty. And besides, that's the point of all this, isn't it? I mean the idea is for you to get to know enough about me that you sort of know what I'm about and if we'd be good together. So here goes.I'm a dork. I mean I know I chose homebody back up there somewhere but I figured that more accurately describes how I spend my time. I'm not one for going out to the clubs or bars and getting trashed. Though as an occasional thing even that has its place. But I'm getting off track. I tend to ramble, we'll call it an endearing quirk. Anyway, the dork thing. I love my video games, mostly RPGs or just about anything with a scifi/fantasy twist to it. I'm a pretty big Doctor Who fan, to the extent that I dressed up like the 11th for Halloween. Though my love of bow ties may have played a part there too. Also, I love bow ties. I feel like that's a pretty dorky thing, though maybe it's becoming cool again. Or I could be deluding myself, that's always a possibility. (Though for any fellow Whovians out there, bowties will always be cool, and so will fezzes *dont worry, I'll rock a bowtie occasionally but I don't have a fez*) Oh, I love to read. Once I get hooked in a book I will read it for hours a day until I finish it. And, like my video games I enjoy mostly scifi/fantasy stuff there too. Alright, I figure that's enough to give you an idea about me. I'm a pretty open book though so just ask me if you've got any questions. I look forward to hearing from ya. Hmmm. I've usually gone the traditional route with first dates. The whole dinner and a movie thing. Though I wouldn't mind doing something non-traditional ***, how cute would it be to take a cooking class together for a first date? Or maybe take in a play or something. Anywho, I guess the takeaway here is that I'm pretty flexible where the first date is concerned. As long as it's something fun and gives us an opportunity to learn about each other a little bit that's the important thing.

Presumably you want to know more about me, or you wouldn't be here, right?Here goes: I’m an honest hard-worker with a big heart and more interests and hobbies than I know what to do with. Ultimately, my goal is to finish my degree and pursue a career in severe weather forecasting and research and I’m planning on going back to school in the spring to get a head-start on that. Besides meteorology, I love to spend plenty of time on the road, just me, music and my truck. Driving is my biggest release: All my cares and worries melt away and I am at peace. I spend a lot of time outside, when weather allows: Hiking, fishing, gardening, spending time with my dog... I like to cook, enjoy wine-tastings, am a graduate gemologist, work on cars, build things and love vegging out on Sundays. Music is, and always has been a huge influence to me…-grunge, classic rock, some singer-songwriter and surf guitar as well.Fashion-wise, dressing down is usually my preferred way to go. Jeans, a tee-shirt and black shoes is what you'll usually find me in. I was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes a few years ago, so eating well and getting back into shape are very important to me. I’m here looking for the ying to my yang… The one who compliments me and I compliment him… The one person who will be there when all others have long since jumped ship. We would have the kind of bond where I can feel the butterflies in my stomach every time I hear my partners voice. A true soul mate. I've conceded that I'm almost certainly never going to find anyone here in the DC area, so I'm not opposed to long distance...As far as race and age, I prefer Caucasian guys in my age group with skinny/athletic/average builds. Anyone else can certainly feel free to message me too… You can never have too many friends. I am not perfect, and I certainly don’t expect perfection. Chemistry and attraction are the two traits that make a relationship work, so as long as those exist we can work out the details.
