Intro: New to the area and entertaining the possibility of finding someone with mutual attraction/chemistry and complimenting personalities (Yin-Yang)...then see where it may go from there? Although I'm not in any rush to be in a relationship, if the right man came along I'm fully capable (emotionally and physically) of being in a LTR should it reach that level over a period of time. I'm not a serial dater and selective in who I communicate with or meet---let's face it, we pretty much know what we want or don't want at this stage in our lives. For Fun: Enjoy a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, such as, but not limited to: golf, softball (play on a local coed team), reading, camping, puzzles, skiing, darts/poker, good movie, a day on the beach, or spending time with my two sons ***and 23 y.o. both serving in the Army) when I can as they're stationed in different states. I'm pretty much open to anything, definitely not a sissy [even rode a bull once and rappelled off a perfectly good building], but do have a few exceptions like eating raw oysters or jumping into subfreezing water. If the only activity or discussion you enjoy is work, prof. sports or holding a remote, then we won't work out---I prefer someone who's active, versatile, diverse and able to 'balance' my needs as well as theirs.More info: Now I'm probably going to shock most men [and paralyze most women] but I HATE TO SHOP, loathe it really. I'm an 'independent thinker', so I don't have any preset religious, spiritual, scientific or political beliefs. My boys are grown, on their own, and enjoying my second stage of independence---so I don't wish to date someone who's actively raising young children. About me: I prefer rock and roll (classic) but listen to others (except rap) depending upon my mood; not judgmental but can be blunt (tell it like I see it); able to discuss/debate on a variety of subjects; spontaneous; adventurous; like romance (what woman doesn't) but hate smothering. I don't have many hobbies. I like to travel. History is a passion I have. Enjoy spending time with my family, but they are not always available and like to do the same thing that I do. I must say that while I enjoy the great outdoors. Camping and hiking. I don't enjoy boats or motorcycles. I can swim but am afraid of water. I learned to swim by my dad throwing me in a river. I did learn to swim but when I can't see the bottom makes me very uneasy. But have been on 2 cruises and love it. Have been divorced for five years now. So I love to travel. Would be better with someone special. I will travel by boat, train car and airplane but not motorcycles! I just don't like them. I have 1 beautiful daughter and a great all "boy" grandson who is 10. Both are the loves of my life. I stay pretty busy with him. I am very involved with my church. It's small but with a very big heart. I love children and teaching children. I can't imagine living anywhere else. But would be willing to move for the right person. I enjoy going to the beach, but would love to travel out West. I do enjoy reading and doing crossword puzzles. I like all kinds of music, but not into the bar scenes. I'm really easy going, my family thinks I'm to trusting. But I believe in giving everyone the benefit off doubt first. I hate drama, and refuse to have it around me. But I can great "passionate" when need be. I fight for what s right and what I believe in. I may have said to much, but just want to be honest about certain things and not waste anyone's precious time. I prefer a simple lunch or dinner. No bar.
