I love people, especially children (my son is grown). I have two nephews 3 and 6 whom I adore. I volunteer quite a bit with various organizations - United Way and Open Doors to the Handicapped being my favorites. I enjoy reading and also enjoy discussing various subjects to see how other people view things. I think I am very open and upfront about what I think and feel. I enjoy going out - having a great meal and glass of wine. I enjoy all types of music and like to experience different things. I enjoy the outdoors - but am not very athletic (have never been unfortunately). I want to have a friend/partner in life someone to share things with. I love my job but it can be very time consuming and stressful - hence I do not like drama - I don't play games with people.Life is too short and I want to share it. First Date - hmmm - I enjoy going out to a nice restaurant so we can talk and learn more about each other - and if lucky great music will be playing.

Friendship first, then we'll see how it goes. I'm quiet at first until I get to know someone. I love animals, reading - especially mysteries with a paranormal twist, music, movies, taking walks, day trips, and technology. And of course I'm open to new interests with the right person. I love quotes and I think too much. So I guess you could say I'm a bit of a philosopher. At the same time, I tend to see the humor in the everyday. Humor makes life quite enjoyable. In my leisure time I prefer not to rush. I was married for 24 years. Chemistry and personality are most important, and a picture doesn't tell the whole story. We won't know if we have it until we meet, and that attraction isn't rational. It's easy to list qualities of the type of person we think we'll be attracted to, but the reality isn't that simple. Work is important but it's not the only thing. I enjoy being around people who don't take themselves or life too seriously. I'm looking for a guy who is real, kind, has a sense of humor, and thinks our time together is special. And we can be ourselves. Someone to spend time with, even it's just hanging out together, taking a walk or snuggling while watching a movie. Even doing the everyday mundane things we all have to do with your partner makes it all worthwhile. I saw this quote and thought it summed up how I view finding that special someone at this point in my life:"Midlife love rocks, and not because it pushes loneliness out of the picture. It's because we've lived long enough to understand how important this kind of connection is - at any age - and how blessed we are to have found it. And since time is a precious commodity, we're less inclined to play games and more inclined to ask for what we want. -- Maybe something simple like coffee and conversation, or it could be a drink before a movie. Whatever it is that will help us relax and be ourselves.
