After having written (and re-written) several of these little informational essays, I find that it would be so much easier to sort of make a list. Something stream-of-consciousness like this: I’m very smart, I’m always cold, I drive in silence often, I forget to eat when I’m working, I snort when I laugh, I’m really clumsy, I love to lie on the couch and read a book, I’’’d rather clean up than cook, I’m often like the absent--Gos, Stevie Wonder, Snow Patrol, and the Lady herself... Ga-Ga), and also I love my friends, my family and my life. There, so much easier.As for detailing what I'm looking for...maybe I should make a list that too:Please be intelligent; please take good care of yourself; please don’t eat a lot of fast food; please bathe at least once a day; please have a working knowledge of pop culture before ***; please don’t ***, Twitter, or be *** minutes; please be articulate; please be able to laugh at yourself; please don’t pick your teeth, your nose, your ears or your butt in public (or - dare I say it - habitually "rearrange" yourself either); please...having teeth is NOT optional!; please like to dance - anything from Salsa to Line dancing; please enjoy singing in the car or at least tolerate it when I do it; please be generous of heart mind, and spirit; please don't throw like a girl; please understand that being an avid reader - to me - means reading a novel, not a magazine; please have good table manners; please be liberal; please don't mind getting your hands dirty; please say please…and thank you.Oh, and also: please think the sun rises and sets on me (What? A little too much?). I've lived and practiced in Marin for 25 years. I live a very active life style between work, tennis, and other adventures. I like hiking, snow skiing, boating, anything on water or outdoors. I'm up for trying anything at least once. I live by the philosophy of making every day matter, by what I give to others and the difference I make, and the experiences I have. My greatest passion has been raising my kids, now 18 and 16, and watching them grow up into incredible young adults. Family is very important to me. I love to travel and experience new cultures. Travel to an island is a must. I'm looking for someone to share the second half of life with, who wants to make each day count. He is someone who is affectionate, who has a heart and can express it, playfull, silly, but serious when needed. He can enjoy the simply things in life, as well as the sophisticated. A great first date would involve a view. But most important and what would make it perfect is the connection that we make regardless of where we are.
