To even begin to break it down...I'd say most important is that my 16 year old is my world; we have a great relationship and she always comes first. If there's an issue with that, you've already lost :-)I can be shy. I'm old school about dating and relationships. I believe kissing is the sexiest art form. I think all relationships are basically crap shoots. You can meet and marry right away and be just as happy as a couple who dates for a decade. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you file a restraining order. Love is just weird that way.I really love the outdoors and camping is ALWAYS a good time, rain or shine, from my experience. I Love music and enjoy going to see local bands. Love BOY STUFF!! I like to work with my hands. If you have a cool hobby or trade I would probably love to try my hand at it. I am a smart girl and I love to read and to learn. I have a head on my shoulders and am far from a 'Damsel in distress.' I love to laugh; Life is funny and far too short to dwell on the negative. People really just need to smile. Happiness is so sexy. I am not perfect, nor am I looking for perfection. Not fond of high maintenance men, sorry all you 'pretty boys,' (I just have the urge to mess up their hair and force em to play with power tools!) I love to cook and definitely enjoy eating healthy as both a lifestyle and a hobby. Would love to grow my own food. (Even more than I want to own a house, I want a yard to put a garden in.) I appreciate "real" I do honestly feel that people are or at least "should" want to be constantly changing and growing throughout their lives. If you feel you've already grown to your life's fullest potential, I'll be open and say that we'll probably have very little in common in the long run. Really not a big partier but I've been leaning towards being a homebody as of late, so anyone who likes to be out and doing things, anything, other than getting drunk, is a plus. If you feel we might honestly have a thing or two in common, say hi.*P.S. If you're not wearing a shirt in your picture, odds are you are not my type. Thanks! **Currently much more interested in making some new friends. (Or developing the slowest moving relationship in history?:) Thought it would be a good idea to add this onto my profile, for the time being. Happy fishing!!**IF YOU MESSAGE ME AND CANT BE BOTHERED TO SAY MORE THAN A FEW WORDS, I'M PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BOTHER TO RESPOND TO YOU..Just part of that life being too short thing. IF YOU TALK TO ME IN SLANG OR REFER TO YOUR CLOTHING AS "SWAG" I'M PROBABLY NOT GOING TO RESPOND EITHER. WE ARE JUST DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Too many people get upset when you're just trying to be polite. So now I'm writing this here. Laugh ..A LOT

**** Please don't message me if you don't have a photo of yourself, or anything written in your profile. I feel like I've taken a bit of time to describe myself - I would hope you can do the same. Also, please don't send me one-liners, or things that suggest you're looking for a random one-night fling. Not for me! ***Hi there!I've been here in the DC area for almost ten years. I have a great job - a wonderful circle of friends and even though I've lived here as long as I have, I can still find new and fun things to do! I would describe myself as fun, sarcastic at times - and passionate about the things I love. I love to laugh. Usually I'm laughing at myself. Some of my favorite things include traveling abroad (I have been to many countries, but there is still so much more to see) I would love to put together a trip to New Zealand or South Africa this year. UPDATE: This is not going so well. The Weather was amazing! I will certainly keep these other plans on the docket for the future.I love to snow ski. Now I can't go one season without getting out to the Rockies. East Coast skiing just doesn't do it for me.I very much enjoy my yoga classes and jogging several times a week. I've recently picked up pilates and it's totally kicking my butt - in a good way. I used to ride horses through college and then professionally, (hunter-jumper) though I seldom have time now. I can still coach and try to squeeze in a lesson and some time in the arena every now and then. Spending time with friends is always important so as to catch up with one another, share life lessons and of course gossip ;) I love wine tasting and trying out new restaurants in the area. I also know how to relax very well and own several cute pairs of pjs that get put to good use on the weekends. Fall is finally upon us and I'm really excited because it's my favorite time of year. I'm dying for the weather to really cool down because I can't wait to break out my sweaters and boots. I much prefer the cold over the hot weather, hence my itch to head up to the mountains and ski. (see para 3).Family is very important to me and I try never to break promises. Friends tell me I'm a great to have around, because I'm very loyal and kind. I'm much more of a relationship person than a dating kind of person. I'm definitely looking for a great relationship - someone who can be a fantastic and loyal friend and partner. My biggest love language is "acts of service," so if you are familiar with the love languages, you probably know what that means ;) I Also enjoy "quality time" and "physical touch." The love languages are important keys to any relationship! What are yours? So what am I looking for? I'm looking for someone that has good values, treats others the way they would want to be treated - and loves God. I don't expect you to be a religious person or go to church every Sunday, but I'm definitely a believer and I would hope that my partner is as well. I grew up Catholic, but I am open and welcoming of all religions. To be truthful, I really only go to church on Christmas and Easter - and maybe Ash Wednesday, (shh, don't tell my mom) but I do love my faith - and I'd like to find someone who cares about theirs as well.MUST LOVE KIDS AND DOGS! I have two dogs, and would definitely love to have a family someday, so if you consider yourself one of those guys that never sees yourself having kids, I'm definitely not the one for you. ...and to sum it up, I'm really just looking for a partner that can be my best friend. Someone who will laugh with me, is not afraid to cry with me - and someone to be vulnerable with. If you consider yourself to be loyal, a great listener, a good friend and ready for a real relationship. (NO GAMES!) Please, get in touch! My idea of a great first date might include a trip to a local winery for a tasting, some great music, a picnic and a little star gazing. This would be after an initial meet-up of course ;)

When you fish by throwing out a net *** carefully planned and skilled pole-fishing, you get what you get. Sometimes this is like fishing with dynamite! You end up with a bunch of dead fish floating on the surface, but no good live ones that are worth keeping. Yet, I keep showing up to the pond. I'm glad enough that I've met some good and lasting friends in this pond, which continues to make it worth it. Me: I'm very laid-back, open minded, free spirited, creative and generally attempt being moral, decent and kind to all. Not superficial, don't like shopping, but do like floats, camping, live music, drinks out (or in). I get along with most people and try not to judge whether I agree with you or not. I'm an animal, music, film and art lover. I write and paint, I'm somewhat sensitive and shy at times yet tough when I need to be. I think I'm asking for too much, yet ask for very little. I'm a good conversationalist, kind and intelligent. I have a quick wit, and simply want to enjoy life (or part of it, anyway) with a like-minded person. You: If you have any of these same qualities (or don't), you're not pretentious, bi-polar (no offense to anyone), married (or otherwise attached) or have any other baggage that won't fit into a carry-on. But are honest, fun, intelligent, open-minded and seeking a real relationship, even if that only means friendship. Interests: Movies: Documentaries, Independent, Drama, Suspense/Thriller, War/Historical, Stand-Up, select horror. I do NOT like most Action or Sci-Fi..and absolutely hate romantic comedies, and I'm picky about comedy...etc, etc..Books: Steinbeck, Burroughs, Ferlinghetti, Castaneda, Bukowski, KerouacLast but not least..I'm a full time student due to graduate by the end of ***. Good things are are the horizon, however, it is somewhat of a restriction on my time and resources. Drinks and conversation. Movies and dinner are too much of a commitment for a first date, we can certainly do that later. :)
