Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you. And then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your life. You give them all of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love doesn't take prisoners or leave survivors. It gets inside you. It consumes your soul and leaves you crying in the darkness it is done with you. And that lonliness turns into a glass splinter that works its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in your mind. Not just in your imagination. It's a soul-hurt, and it gets under your skin, spreads through your veins, muscles and bones. Into every corner of your body. And it rips you apart. I'm not sure what to say about myself, seems like that should be discussed in person. I have a very specific idea of what I'm looking for, and where I'm going in life.     I recently graduated with my Master's Degree in Athletic Training. I had put my career on hold for the relationship I was in. That is something that I never should have done and I am working to correct that mistake. My dream job would be working with a college team and becoming a professor to help the future of my profession. I have finally decided to put my happiness first. I never understood the idea of going to a movie on a first date. To me the first date is the time to try and get to know who you are with. A good first date to me is going out to dinner and then just taking a walk or going somewhere to talk. How do you know if you want to go on a second date if you don't get to know the person you are with on the first date? If you aren't up for dinner then maybe something fun like Putt-Putt or bowling. I am a pretty easy going person and will try anything, but on a first date I like to try and get to know the person I am with.
